OFFSIDE

OFFSIDE

I recognized the name, the kind of company that had been built specifically around athletes who existed outside the traditional mold, whose roster read like a list of people who'd decided authenticity was worth more than the alternative. One line. 'Our door is open, @JaxonWhitfield94.' I stared at it. In the dark. Three am. Callum asleep on the other end of the couch. Elena's voice on a recording saying your son is happy for the first time in years. A list on a piece of paper in my wallet, short, honest, slightly terrifying. The door was open. A different door than the one that had just closed. I put my phone down. I looked at the dark ceiling of Callum's apartment.

Out of Frame

Out of Frame

I suddenly remembered an audio clip Vivian had secretly recorded and sent me. "Honestly, I get no inspiration from looking at her. Anything I shoot of her would be trash. Wouldn't that ruin my reputation as a genius photographer?" Vivian's photos smiled at me from every wall, smug and taunting. I nearly lost control and smashed one. But when I turned around, Julian was already gone. A crowd had gathered outside a room not far away, craning their necks as if waiting for something. "The grand finale piece is definitely going to be released soon."

Grooming Our Love

Grooming Our Love

he advised, inspecting his glossy nails before tucking his wig behind his ear like he was about to serve a theraphist line. "Remember, pretty girls don’t cry over men," he added. "Water delivery," Laura sang, entering with a tray, dramatically placing the pitcher and glass on my bedside like there's a ceremonial offering. "Just do as I say, Natty. Look at me—I never cried over my long list of ex-lovers because I’m a strong woman," Soda boasted, crossing his legs and arching his back like a diva on a throne. "They do have good reasons why they left you, Soda," Laura sighed, pouring me a glass before handing it over.

The Pop Star and the Playboy Quarterback

The Pop Star and the Playboy Quarterback

“The Betty’s come by Touchdown Tavern all the time. They have become like family. And tonight, away from prying eyes and sloppy drunks, we have the place to ourselves, courtesy of them.” Ophelia opens her arms wide to the small space, but unlike Camila’s date at Big Steaks, this feels so much nicer and more intimate. We sit down, and as I open my menu, I can’t help but glance up at Ophelia. “You know, for being the ‘enemy,’ you’re pretty spectacular.” She grins. “Oh? Is that so?” “Yeah, but I’m pretty sure you’re just secretly an Ozark fan in hiding. You can’t be against the best team in the AFA!”

The ÆSTHETIC

The ÆSTHETIC

He was wearing all white, with a polo shirt and white cargo pants and white desert boot yeezy sneakers, our outfits complemented each other quite well. He ordered the uber once I had finished my makeup whilst I was pre-drinking. "You look good and smell good babe", he complimented me as we were walking out the building. "Thank you", I responded getting into the uber and connecting the aux. "SpongeBob pet Gary, I'm a slimy mother fucker, Lookin' for a fairly odd mother like my name Crocker, green goblin not the grinch, stealin' out the stockings, how to dance , the chick from grease the pots stole made from crocker, oh the teeny bop pull up like a diaper on a toddler (huh, huh) strong like a

The Arrogant Love

The Arrogant Love

Sofia said, clearly prioritizing a patron over a part-time employee like Poppy. “Ms. Jennings!” “Apologize to the gentleman right now, Poppy,” Sofia commanded, her tone dropping into a serious, no-nonsense growl. “No!” Poppy snapped. She turned on her heel, marched back to the counter, grabbed her shoulder bag, and stormed out through the back of the shop. But she hadn't made it even three steps past the rear exit before she was jerked back, slamming into the building's exterior wall. “Mr. Thomas! Why are you following me?!” Poppy cried out. She was pinned against the back wall, unable to move. He had one of her hands clamped in his grip, while his other arm was braced against the wa

Off Limits

Off Limits

Two separate pints of ice cream were melting into sticky puddles next to an open bag of cookies. And in the center of the destruction stood the culprit. Phoebe had changed into a pair of faded denim shorts and a bright yellow t-shirt that had the words “More Espresso, Less Depresso” printed across the front in cheesy, cursive lettering. She was currently holding a smoking slice of toast in one hand, using a plastic butter knife to aggressively scrape a layer of black char directly onto my pristine floor, all while singing along to the terrible pop music at the top of her lungs.

His Ex Mistress, His Enemy

His Ex Mistress, His Enemy

“SpongeBob?” “And you,” Sophia added, tapping her iPad and turning it toward me. “Look at this. ‘The Dangerous Lawyer, the Billionaire Dad, and the Internet’s Favorite Toddler of the Week.’” In the photo, I was laughing, hair flying, sunlight catching on the side of my face. Zane sat next to me, arm draped casually over the back of my chair, looking like a man who knew exactly how handsome, rich, and dangerously addictive he was, more potent than espresso shots mixed with unresolved daddy issues.

Hello guys, my connection’s finally back to normal! I’m so sorry once again—the storm really messed things up and the recent chapters weren’t as good as I wanted them to be. I’ve already re-edited the previous chapters that had errors, but my editor hasn’t confirmed the updates yet. Please bear with
