Lana’s POV Sophie handed me the suspiciously pink drink with a proud flourish, already sipping from her own like it was liquid gold. “That man was practically undressing you with his eyes,” she said, wiggling her eyebrows. “Like seriously, who the hell was he?” I turned the black card over in my hand again. “Leonard,” I muttered. Sophie let out a long, dramatic whistle. “Leonard. That even sounds mysterious. Please tell me he’s not another accountant or someone boring like that. That man has villain origin story energy.”

Ethan sat up too, tugging the sheet over them both. "It's a big shift, yeah. Wouldn't have believed it myself without those tapes—turns out little me was pure Buddy vibes." "But don't sweat it. My personality pivot? Tied to how I grew up." "I'd never turn into Dad—chasing skirts, dodging duty. And you..." He dropped his gaze to her, meeting those expectant eyes. He always strives to improve and is very smart and responsible. He is kind to every employee, not like those capitalistic businessmen who only think of oppressing their workers.”

"You're not exactly the emotional type." Sophia's mock upset turned into a pout. "Hey, I can be emotional too, you know. I'm a deep and complex person." Dante chuckled. "Sure you are, Sophia. That's why you're always making fun of people who cry in movies." Sophia playfully hit him on the arm. "Shut up. I just have high standards for storytelling, okay? I don't cry easily." I giggled. "Whatever, Sophia. We know you're just a softie at heart."

I took little sips at first but the chilling feeling I got on my lip at the first two sips made me gulp down the rest of the yogurt in the glass into my stomach. I was thirsty and loved how the ice burnt my esophagus

I’ve always been a sucker for a girl who knows her own mind, and wants more than just happy ever after, with prince charming. Sophie is volatile at the best of times, fiery, passionate and not afraid to call me on my shit. We fight sometimes, although not often, but we bicker, we nip at each other. We have fallen out and made up more than once, and with her nothing is ever dull, or routine. She changes her mind like the weather, she’s spontaneous and fun. Together we laugh and act like kids, and she’s happy to follow the plans we make with my friends and go with the flow. Sophie keeps me young and reminds me how to enjoy life.

, Sophia sniffed, being the crybaby she was, the only one to cry over a regular speech. "I wish I was there to hug you right now, honey. I understand what you mean and I won't push you or force you into anything, trust me", she wasn't even allowed to finish her speech before she was cut off.
