It happens in a lot of RPG games as a way to make grinding less boring for players and help them level up. With that, Zen decided to look for a new hunting spot. This time, he wasn’t going to lure them anywhere. He was simply going to find a space huge enough to run around to slow them down and maybe a tree to climb. Slimes chase their targets in one direction, and Zen did not have to worry about getting ambushed. These green blobs could jump surprisingly high, and Zen knew just how to thin the herd.

The death paladin let go of its sword and let it stab into the sand while it spun around counterclockwise and bashed its shield at the Hunter. “Argh!” The Hunter was sent flying across the desert. He managed to flip his body and land on his first until he came to a stop. That action made his hood fall down and exposed his head. He had light green hair on the top that was tied back and he shaved the sides and back of his head. He had green eyes as well. He lifted his head to look at the death paladin. It grabbed its sword and started charging toward the Hunter. The Hunter flapped his cloak back and reached for something on his waist, a small bell.

Kyle snagged the pistol back from Trey and tossed it across the room as he scooted on his bottom back up to the far wall sobbing like a child. “All I ever wanted to do was be a part of a pack. I never wanted any of this shit. Why! Why!” he wailed, banging his head back into the wall, his hands tearing at this hair, the hint of sanity he had fled his mind and I couldn’t help but hurt for him. I watched as Enzo redirected his fury towards the rogue leader and as I steadied myself I rushed over to the hillbilly werewolf howling against the wall. I reached forward, Enzo crouched down ready to pounce, yet I waved him back.

My body buzzed with tension, every instinct screaming that something wasn’t right. And then, the gunshot. It was too close. I twisted, moving out of the way just in time as the bullet sliced through the air where I’d been standing. A growl ripped from my throat, my body surging forward as I shifted midair. The transformation sharpened everything—the scents, the sounds, the movement in the shadows. My eyes locked onto one of the hunters pressed against a tree, his rifle raised. I didn’t give him the chance to fire again.

A man on foot had broken free of his hiding spot and was gunning it after us, running at an impossible speed. I didn't need to see the light sucking black surrounding his pupils, annihilating the whites of his eyes to know what he was. I could tell by the way his arms jerked as he bounded towards us, closing the gap between hunter and prey. I slipped my gun from the holster strapped to my thigh and let off three rounds the same instant the front tire ran a hole, jarring my shots and sending them wide. "Keep it steady!"

After that, a different kind of satisfaction came across me. I enjoyed hunting these human hunters, thus, killing 10 werewolves and being the youngest and best werewolf hunter. Rendall killed 8 werewolves which are also not that bad, Quinn is setting poisonous traps and putting some on the bows granting her 4 kills. We make a great team. “Let’s go, Raffi.” I turned and saw Rendall brushing his mid-length hair using his fingers. “Are you going on a date?” I asked him as I scanned his clothes.
