"And where do you even got that large money when you already bankrupt?" He grimaced and looked around if someone is listening on them. "I borrow it in the shark loan where my mom and dad used to have a debt." He spilled the tea only whispering on her. "They only give me one month to return the money and if I failed to do so, we are all going to suffer." He reminded where it seems to be a serious case for all of them. She laugh sarcastically, looking at him unbelievably "We? You're funny, Dominick. It was only your problem and we have nothing to do with it."

Jade sincerely suggested. "I am not the borrower; it's not me," Ula shouted, defending herself vehemently. "I was set up by someone else; they stole my personal information and borrowed money from those criminals. This is definitely a misunderstanding. Please verify and clear my name." The woman sneered cunningly, her eyes as dark as the night, responding, "Perhaps you don't know that your family owes them money, and unfortunately, you were the one chosen to bear the debt. If you don't repay, they will take everything, starting with your body."

Now I had nothing. I turned to Daniel, my pride shriveling up like a dead leaf. “I need to borrow money,” I said through clenched teeth. Daniel hesitated. “How much?” “Ten thousand.” His eyebrows shot up. “Are you freaking kidding me?” “I’ll pay you back, I swear.” Daniel exhaled, rubbing a hand over his face. “This is insane.” But he pulled out his phone anyway. “I better get this back.” I nodded, even though we both knew I had no way of paying him back.

But I stood there and refused to yield even an inch. Max finally loosened his grip. He understood that I didn't love him anymore. That day at the airport, Max stood alone amid the scattered scraps of paper. People passed by, stole glances at him, and whispered among themselves. Max had never experienced something like this before, yet none of it made him move. He gathered the shredded paper together and kept it by his side, as if guarding it meant I would come back. But I was already on a plane bound for the other end of the country.

With a sharp crack, the object embedded in the rosewood right at the center of the console—the one that had always been meticulously protected—was smashed to pieces. "Looks decent." She had no idea who they were, but she had a feeling that they were up to no good. She stumbled backward warily and prepared to shut the door. So, they pawned you." Janet was bewildered. "That's impossible!" "Hah! Here's the receipt. Read for yourself." Then, he threw a receipt at her.

He looked up at me briefly and turned back to his book. "Hey Alex." He said in a curt voice. "Jim, please I need your help." "With what?" He said in an uninterested voice. "Can you borrow me two thousand dollars?" I said hastily. He sat up in surprise. "Whoa hold up " He exclaimed. "Two thousand dollars? Where do you expect me to get that kind of money from?" He pushed his novel aside and regarded me with a guarded Expression. "Maybe your savings. You've worked here for long. I'm sure you'll have savings. I promise I will pay you back. Please help me." My voice was filled with the desperation I felt.

Two figures huddled in a corner, shivering. "Alvin, I've told you, I just need to borrow two hundred bucks. I'll pay you back once I get my salary this month." "What? Can't you be more understanding? We're buddies. Aren't you supposed to help me out?" A man was making a phone call, attempting to borrow money from an unyielding source. "Alright, Alvin, here's the deal.
