17 | BITES AND DOORS December 17 Many people say that, when you’re about to die, your whole life flashes before your eyes. Some realize they didn’t say “I love you” enough, others regret their last conversation with a loved one, and some come to terms with the fact that they weren’t a good person and want to redeem themselves. Analyzing your life as a series of events is supposed to help you get the big picture, to understand whether you truly gave your best.

Though people around the world leave this earth every moment for all sorts of reasons, it still felt unsettling that, in just over a month, four people from their own circle—Ruby, Eugene, Kenneth, and Shane—had all passed away one after another. It cast a heavy gloom over everything. "Death comes for everyone eventually. No one escapes it," Louis said gently. "Yeah, I know. Go get washed up and rest early. I’ll do the same," Adora replied with a faint smile, then waved goodbye and ended the video call.

Death. Everyone was about to die.

I will never forget this and will be forever grateful to all of these people. It is a weird thing having money to spend at the end when you're dying. It's not a time you go out and buy material things that you usually would, like a new dress. It makes you think how silly it is that we think it is worth spending so much money on new clothes and 'things' in our lives.

That means they will happen anyway at some point, and we don’t really feel like experiencing them. Just like what we are experiencing right now. What is happening right now. Most people can’t cope with these. They are too negative, they complain, feel bad, and even ruin their lives because of those. Or they'll just commit sin such as suicide of any kinds of things related to that.

I’ve never really thought about my death. Sure, I’ve experienced losing someone, or specifically my parents, but I have never really thought about my own death. Never thought about what dying would be like. Do people really think about dying? Yes, I know there are some who plan everything in case something happens to them. There are those that plan their burials way before their death... I guess the reason why I never thought about my death is because I can’t bear leaving those I love behind.
