The book fell with a thud, making a noticeable noise. I was about to retrieve the fallen display book when I heard a familiar voice. "Who's there?" he asked, his footsteps hurrying in the direction of the fallen book. I froze. I held the book in my hand, on the verge of returning it to the display table. Our gazes met as he approached.
