My chest rose and fell rapidly, each breath too shallow to properly calm me. White-hot anger surged through me, filling every vein and burning everything it touched. My palms itched violently, desperate to strike someone, to destroy something. My heart thundered in my ears until all I could hear was the roar of my fury. I couldn’t hold it back. With a roar, I hurled the phone with all the force I had. It spun through the air before slamming into the wall, shattering on impact. The sound of glass cracking rang out and echoed slightly in the empty office, very much like the last of my composure cracking.
