Sonia paused for a moment before she sat down beside him. Alex put his bandaged hand in front of her and asked softly, “Scared?” Sonia remained quiet, her head lowered. Alex giggled. He tilted the girl’s face up with his other hand and consoled her, “I’m not scared, so what are you scared of?” Sonia pouted. Her face puffed as she stared at him and stammered, “I’m scared that it hurts.” She spoke softly but Candice heard her. Candice looked down at the bottle of water that Alex put away. It was almost hitting the floor.

I'm willing to berate him for being so rude, but he looks so excited like he's about to explode that I can't help but ask, "What is he talking about?" I look at Luis confused. "Well, it was supposed to be a surprise, but with him around that he can't keep a secret, let me show you" Both with our curiosities peaking, we followed Luis toward the back of the house with Diego enthusiastically leading the way. I moved my palm to my head, felt my temperature, and chuckled. I may have had the good fortune of having a dreamless sleep, but the heat from my body told me that it wasn’t done with me yet. I tried to stand up and heard a machine beep loudly. I turned toward the sound and noticed that I had been hooked up to it. Shocked, I took the tubes out of my arm and felt the sore spot. “You shouldn’t have done that,” Sonia’s voice said as she walked into the room. A nurse followed closely, then walked past her and started to touch buttons on the machine.

“Sonia, please… what if he tries to take the baby from me? Or worse, what if he forces me to get rid of it?” Before Sonia could respond, a shrill sound cut through the tension. Sonia’s phone suddenly started ringing. The sharp sound startled us both. She looked down at the screen, her brows furrowing. “It’s Adams,” she said, her voice filled with surprise. My heart skipped a beat. “Adams?” I repeated, sitting up straighter. Without hesitation, Sonia picked up the call and placed the phone to her ear. “Hello?” she said. There was a pause as she listened, her expression shifting from confusion to surprise, and then relaxation. “Okay,” she said simply before hanging up and turning to me.

Anger stained on her face as she glared at it. If care isn't taken, she was ready to fling it out of the window.

Without warning, a huge screech blasted through the yard, almost knocking everyone over. As he staggered backwards, Lucas could see that the wad of material he’d dropped was unfurling, and the valves were slowly but surely coming apart. They all disintegrated in a series of tiny explosions that no one had any chance of hearing. Then, as abruptly as it had come, the sonic wave ceased. The guns were back on Miller before he had chance to take advantage. Frobisher grabbed at the valves but saw they were beyond repair. ‘Oops!’ Lucas said. His ears rang.

( Swiftly removed his hand from my shoulders, apparently he noted that I wasn't comfortable with his budding attitude, he veers a step backward and throw a response) "I'm sorry if that wasn't accepting". ( What he meant was his hands running around my shoulders) "It's ok!!" I said with a smiley face, as he continues talking. "Boma, I'm glad that you came to the party and now that you're here!!! I've got a surprise for you". ( He's acting strange, once again, and come to think of it, what surprise does he have for me), that's my head talking, when Mr. Adam, whiskered our attention away from by his voice speaking through the microphone.
