(Anna) The ship dropped me on the port of Crescent Island, that's where the headquarters of The Shadow had been built underground. The name was given because the island was shaped like a crescent moon and legend had it, it bristled with supernatural powers under the full moon. I made my way through the rocky topography of the island and finally arrived at the secret passageway that led inside the headquarters. I was drenched in sweat and my legs ached. Being human was not easy.

Sonic paused and asked in an indecisive tone “Boss, shall we take them out?” Naturally, the conversation attracted the attention of the other three in the room. Shadow walked over and stretched his hand for the phone. “Boss” “Shadow, you’re back?” Ben was relieved “I need to head out from the rear entrance.” “Give me 5 mins, we’ll create a diversion and give you an all clear when you’re good to head out.” Sonic stared at Shadow with a wrinkled forehead and lips ‘Why didn’t I think of that? Ha! General is still general!’

Alex replied with an emotionless face, doing as if he didn't notice the gunpowder in the air between his two subordinates. "Shadow, do you think we will find them here?" Alex asked in his head. "Yes, I have 80% assurance that we will find a clue of their whereabouts" Shadow's voice sounded in Alex's mind. The man in Shadow has hidden in a spatial artifact that Alex owned. Alex smiled and said, "Let's see where they could be hiding."

The scene projected wasn't a memory; it was happening now. The black ships we had seen on the horizon had reached the shore. They weren't empty. They were packed with Shadows, not the ink-monsters from the woods, but people. Thousands of them. They were pale, translucent versions of everyone the Shop had ever 'audited' or deleted. The ships were docking at the base of the North-Point Lighthouse. "They aren't coming to fight," I realized, watching the wall. "They're coming to Checkout."

Julian roared, slamming the throttle to the wall. The boat lurched forward with a violence that pinned Elara against her seat. Julian began to weave the Shadow-Runner through a graveyard of half-sunken tankers and rusted oil rigs that littered the approach to the industrial canals. It was a labyrinth of rotting steel and oily water, a place where a smaller, faster boat had the advantage. A streak of white light cut through the dark sky—a high-energy pulse that missed their stern by mere inches, sending a geyser of boiling water into the air. The shockwave rocked the boat, and for a second, the engines sputtered.

A massive, funnel-like vacuum of shadow erupted from my palm, stretching across the valley and latching onto the lead ship, I watched as the golden glow of the fleet began to dim, the light being dragged toward me in shimmering, violent ribbons. The Sol Invictus lurched, its engines sputtering as I drained the very power that kept it airborne. "Go back, Jaxon," I commanded, my voice layered with the echoes of the Abyssal Kings, "tell your King that the Sun has officially set, if he wants his child, he’ll have to come into the dark to get him." Jaxon didn't wait for a second warning, he scrambled back into the scout ship, the ramp slamming shut as the vessel struggled to lift off against the

The ship’s deck plates groaned, a metallic, tortured sound that didn’t come from the engines. It was the sound of reality being uninstalled. "The vibration is changing," Xander growled, his hand already back on the hilt of his blade. He looked at the cargo bay door where the obsidian claw-mark was glowing with a sickly, rhythmic violet light. "It’s not just eating the steel, Sereia. I can feel the 'Wolf' in the ship’s alloy screaming."

"Thane, bring us about! Hard to port!" I roared. Thane slammed his weight against the helm, the Obsidian Wing groaning as its Eclipse-Glass prow sliced through the air.
