Behind us, Xenon’s cold laughter echoed through the room.
“This is what happens when hybrids defy their place,” he sneered, his voice dripping with malice. “Alistair was never meant to live. And now, neither are you, Hyacinth.”
“Shut up!” Hyacinth screamed, her voice filled with rage. She stood, placing herself between Xenon and Alistair’s body. Her hands clenched into fists, and her eyes burned with fury.
Xenon stepped closer, his claws gleaming in the dim light. “You’re just like your mother—foolish, weak, and desperate. But unlike her, you won’t walk away from this alive.”
