Ryan said as he, Alejandro, and Trunks exited the room. Cornelia turned to Suhee the moment the door closed. “So? What’s the other song you mentioned?” Suhee smiled faintly. “Ash by Ateez.” Cornelia’s eyes lit up. “Yes! I love that one—it’s trending right now. Honestly, I thought you’d pick a Stray Kids song.”

The next few days were strange. We were tender with each other careful not to press too hard on the bruise forming between anticipation and loss. We talked about logistics. Dates. Time zones. We laughed more than necessary, like laughter could preemptively soften the ache. But underneath it all, something churned. One afternoon, I found myself staring at an old photo on my phone. Carrie. I typed the name 'Carrie' and alas! It was it. I opened the message. 'I miss u, Layla, I cant wait to see u. Don't worry I won't be too rough on u.' What the hell? 'I never knew u had a twin sister, should I include her too? What the fuck am I saying? She is included in 'I see u like playing the hide and seek game, u can hide but u can't run from me, Layla.' “Are you sure? Athena told you that?” Blake nodded. “Yes, sis. Just have a little patience; she is going to come back.” “But I need her now! For the Ball, for our mate! Tell Athena to connect with her—to come back and claim our mate!” Blake sighed. “I know, but…” “Hey, Blake!” a stern voice interrupted them. I guess you a dream of your bias again from that boy group, what it's called again? Moonie?" "Ma'am, for the 20th time... it's Moonine not Moonie. And I didn't have a dream last night, I was daydreaming."

“What the hell I am only 16. I am not getting married any time soon. We have an event to go to and he is my plus one. Friends only no romance at all” “Yeah you should see the size of the guy who is in love with her. He would kill me if I touched her”

I stared around with a stupid smile. It's like having your very own mega multifan sign event. Is that even a thing? I don't know.

Their fandom name, deceptively. "Aren't you...?" "No" I denied. "I'm not interested in those kind of things" I’ve no time for entertainment and fangirling. "Oh" was all he said. "Got it" I mumbled.
