CHOICES UNKNOWN POV Choice - it's the most powerful tool there is. Everything in life boils down to choices. We exist in a universe of infinite paths and possibilities. Each and every path we choose shuts or opens an infinite number of doors. I lay down certain paths for my children. Some like to call it fate, but the truth is they can choose to ignore that path. I can't make them choose. There are rules against things of that nature that even I must follow. My children are those born with the pull of the moon. Werewolves as they have come to be called.

However, what I really wanted to say was that leaving forever was the only thing I wanted right now. I shoved him aside and scrambled up. However, before I could leap, he yanked me back. Calvin charged at him and threw a punch. "Yoana's really depressed, so lay off her already!" At those words, Patrick's eyes narrowed in shock. "No way."

The shout cracked through the room. Then both women went still. Sophia was breathing hard now, tears finally slipping down her face. “I chose the only thing I knew how to choose,” she whispered. “I chose the version of the story that kept us alive.” Elena looked at her without blinking. “No,” she said. “You chose the version that kept you comfortable.” Sophia recoiled as if slapped. The silence that followed was brutal. Elena stepped around the table. Sophia didn’t back away. Maybe because there was nowhere to go.

A fucking joke. Then there was Jennifer Fernandez. The fucking old bitch. Sophie remembered how she tried so hard, to not to let it show.
