I gulped and continued, "The problem must be something else." His face straightened and he looked at me in silence for a while before he stated in an even, steady voice. "A tear in the mate bond is like a spear digging into your wolf which eventually will rip your souls apart." His two hands encircled his teacup. "That is why it is called unfortunate soulmates. Honey, this is not something to take lightly." My breath hitched. My throat felt raw and tears stung behind my eyes. "Then how would rejection be an answer?"

He slammed the door closed, and the old castle seemed to shudder as bits of dust and rocks rained down on her. Mia stood still, staring at the door as if he would come back if she stared hard enough. He didn't. And she remained there on her own, confused, hurt, and thinking. He thought she was about to reject him, but Mia wouldn't be able to do that if her life depended on her. I said with a smile. In the heat of the moment, I grab Genelia's arm and pull her away from the situation and as far as I can get. "S-Sam? What just happened?" She freaks. "I don't know."
