So did Kaelyn's voice. Then, blackness. Nothing.

Asher roared—louder than the ringing in my ears, louder than anything. Then, blood was sprinkled on the bag over my head. My pulse thundered in my ears, louder than the sounds around me. I couldn't stop shaking. “Wait!” one of them roared, and then silence followed. “Blackmaw! Blackmaw! We want justice! Justice for our daughters! Justice for our sons! Justice for our Alpha!
