For a moment, Seraphine felt it. A flicker, like a candle flame sparking in the dark. But before she could reach for it, it sputtered out, leaving only emptiness. “The First Spark,” the professor intoned, “is the breath before the flame. Today, you will call it. Do not expect control. Do not expect mastery. Expect only a response.” He raised his hand, and a line of glowing runes shimmered across the board. “Close your eyes. Listen inward. Breathe until you hear what is already waiting.”

This spell is underwhelming but effective. Opening my eyes, I see the candles snuff out one by one as the center bowl sets alight and self-combusts in a little implosion. A puff of fire and smoke, a flash of tiny sparks, and then it burns out to an ember, and the smoke turns blue, before it fades away. Almost gentle in its power, given the importance of its task.

*Crackle* Sparks appeared around the Asherah Pole, and the ground around it turned into lava as it failed to endure her power. The magma spiralled and turned, ascending and rushing towards Asherah who accepted its baptism wholeheartedly. It seeped into her skin and invaded her organs and blood vessels. Her heart that had known wind up until this moment, was forced to accept the earth and fire of the phoenix, and she was pushed to her very limits. Her eyes were fully clouded by the fog of fire and smoke, and ash slowly began to rise out of her open pores!

The heat of raging flames licked at Seraph's skin as he ran through a charred forest. The vampire stopped for a moment once he was at a safe distance and looked around. The fire had burned everything, even the soil. There wasn't a trace of the once lush forest that existed before. Seraph spotted a clearing and saw his mate lying in the center of it. He ran over to the vampiress and picked her up, gently shaking her. "Esper, wake up. Please wake up."

I respond while putting away the used glass in the sink. "That would be a miracle if it happened and it would also mean that you are probably not okay," Jose tells me. I mentally roll my eyes. Jose and Sophia are saved by Amy walking into the kitchen. I had already aligned the bombs that I was going to blast on them. "Good morning, dear," Sophia says to Amy with a beaming grin.

There was only one way that I could stop them. “Get out of the cave now!” I shouted at Ashton and the other guy. “Lina, I can’t leave you alone here”, Ashton said. “Go! I’ll find you”, I told him. When they had exited the cave, I stepped back and used my super heat vision on the fuel that was flowing from the jet’s fuel tank. The fire caught quickly and spread to the jet. It exploded in a quick manner before they managed to escape. I tried to be as quickly as I could and before I could get out of the cave, the force from the explosion threw me out of the cave.

Spark whispered taking a sip of Fanta from his glass cup. "Well I sunk myself in the pond of rebirth and channelled a huge amount of lightning to boil the whole pond and other stuffs shall happened and voila I have a new left arm." Zeus elucidated. "impressive" Naomi replied with a piece of meat in her mouth. "How did she hear me?" Zeus asked with a surprised countenance. "Werewolf ears" Spark replied with a tone that no further questions should be asked. Zeus understood and took a piece of meat from Spark's plate and chewed on it.

All at once, I heard yelling, sobs, baby cries, Doctor Emily saying something and Egan calling my name over and over. Black dots started to form in front of my vision and my heart started beating very fast and I was sure I was having a heart attack, but suddenly I felt something warm grow from my back, the Spiritual Fire took the shape of a small dragon and flapped its wings fast, flying from my back to my inflamed womb and settled there, replacing the fire by light and healing me on spot. It felt so fresh and so good to not be burnt anymore. I breathed deeply as my heart attack stopped and the healing light spread across my whole body.

The thought alone made my blood boil. But as I looked at her, I couldn't help but notice the sparkle in her eyes, the excitement in her voice. She was grateful for the job I offered her. And why wouldn't she be? It was a good opportunity to start over. I offered her accommodation at the coffee shop and her face beamed with joy. It was strange how I knew that she needed a place. Perhaps it was the pull of the mate bond, but I couldn't resist helping her. "You can start tomorrow," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'm Richard by the way."
