Tempting the Wrong Prince
Trying to regain control over myself.
Because if I lost control now, I would burn everything.
Rachel was on the floor, coughing and crying, mascara smudging, hands shaking.
She looked up at me with terror.
I stared down at her, my chest still heaving.
My voice came out low, deadly calm.
“Speak,” I said.
Rachel flinched.
“Speak,” I repeated, more forceful, and the tremor in my voice was not weakness, it was the effort it took not to tear the room apart again.
