my father said. My father did not say anything again after that, we just continued our dinner but I had already lost my appetite so I excused my self. "Mom, Dad, I am leaving" I said while standing up. "Aren't you two finish your food" my mother asked . "No, I am okay" I replied and walked out of their mansion. As I got outside, I heard my brother Emmett coming behind me. "Hy, I know this news was unexpected and all but I want you to know Elias is not as you think he is" Emmett said.

“What are you going to do now?” I paused, contemplating the question carefully. I had not really thought about this. I could stay in town and try to find my feet again but how would I do that, knowing that I would bump into Jason or Lila one day? I couldn't bear to see them together, not now—not anytime soon. I needed somewhere to clear my head. A fresh start. A new life where they never existed. Where they can never hurt me again. “I’m going to leave this city. Start over somewhere far away. Somewhere they don’t know me.”

Because when someone you love wakes up and walks away without a word…It feels a whole lot like being left behind. And I had no idea why.

Cullen leaned in and pressed a light kiss to her cheek, oblivious to the storm brewing beside him. “Are you ready to go?” Laurie swallowed hard, then turned to Ethan. “There’s nothing left to talk about.” And just like that, she walked away with Cullen, leaving Ethan standing there, watching the woman he’d lost walk out of his life for the second time.

I told him, then I left. I was breathing very agitated, that situation took me by surprise, it had been so long since I was so close to him that I had forgotten for a moment what the closeness of his body with mine made me feel, that sensation, that desire to kiss him, now my future was Tristan, I felt bad for thinking this when I was now going out with him, come on forget it! I kept walking to my friends, I made it, I sat beside them and I gave them their juice.

Her gaze shifted away, not down, just slightly aside like she was holding herself together with the effort of not looking at me. “I didn’t mean to startle you,” I said. “You didn’t.” Her voice was quiet. “I was leaving.” “To where?” Her shoulders rose in a small shrug. “Anywhere that isn’t here.”
