Where’s Chris!” Leo shouts, slamming his fist into the barrier. “Raihana!” Summoning my power, I channel it all toward the centre of the barrier where it had parted to allow Leo in. Figuring it’ll be the weakest, a roar of concentration escapes me as I feel the sheer power hammering back at me before it begins to tremble. A broken sob leaves Raihana, she’s trembling as she chants a spell and opens a portal and she pulls someone from inside.

A devilish grin spread across her mouth as she watched the streams of my blood fall into the copper bowls. She was right about one thing: the way she was draining my blood, weakened me enough to remain silent, and after a while, I needed to fight to keep my awareness. I could only watch Hespera pull out all of her remaining red, glowing crystals. She placed her hand on them and kept it there until they lost their glow as if she was sucking out the energy. When she finished, she started chanting something again, louder this time. Every line of her spell seemed to ignite the fire in one part of the circle. Once she ended her chanting, the thick wall of fire surrounded Felix.

Hazel’s breath caught in her throat as she heard this, and she felt fear slowly creeping in, but then she pushed it away, focusing on what Halle was trying to say to her. “The pillar that you encountered before can be summoned again. You have lost your default chance with them, and you need a spell to raise it up again.” Hazel listened attentively as Halle spoke. “I do not have to go over this one because your spell book can always guide you,” she said, and Hazel nodded.

Axel extended his hand, offering a small vial of blood, but before he could step forward, my mother raised a hand to stop him. "Do not enter the circle," she warned, her gaze piercing. I felt a surge of power as my mother took my hands in hers, connecting to my own latent abilities. Together, we began to chant the spell she had taught me, the words flowing effortlessly from my lips as if they had always been there, waiting to be spoken. As the incantation reached its peak, a blinding light enveloped us, and I felt myself being transported to another realm. One from her various readings springing to mind, Chiri ruminated over the details of the spell for a moment before speaking again. “I don’t need to cast it though.” Chiri observed, glancing down at her own shadow. Her eyes fell on its wavering shape coldly, before moving she fingers slowly in a pattern in the air above it. “Dim companion, no longer shall you follow me. Tis, at this time I rid you of my company, so mote it be. Sevurn uram.” Unaccustomed to issuing spells aloud, Chiri whispered the words carefully. Unsure of whether the method would actually work, the response swiftly came in the form of an anguished hiss from Amelia.

It wasn’t trying to control me; it was remembering itself through me. Angela stepped closer, her palms raised, silver symbols flickering beneath her skin. “Selena, can you hear me?” she asked, voice trembling slightly. “You’re channeling something far older than your mother’s line. You have to steady it before it consumes you.” I turned toward her, and the moment our eyes met, the fire dimmed to a faint glow. It was as if the power obeyed not my fear, but my focus.

I pointed my finger and Micheal seemed troubled as he got on his feet again. " taught you, Spells, like what? " He was serious all of a sudden, clenching his hand on the spear.
