He snaps, eyes red when he's near and slams his palm on the hood as he walks to Gwen's side. I jerk in my seat and press my lips together. His eyes fall on me and they scan over my figure in a suggestive way. I shiver, inwardly crawling into my shell. " Who's this Reece? Fresh meat?" His tongue snaked out just like the one tatted on his face to lick his lower lip. "She's off limits Spencer." Gwen murmurs taping my thigh reassuringly. I didn't feel the least bit reassured at the moment. Spencer groans, rolls his eyes and moves them away from me. "Too bad, could've been fun."

“Do you think I’d dare to do that, Maia? I’m counting on you to land the man of my dreams! You don’t know the half of it. I felt so awful for not seeing Spencer for the past few days! “I miss him so much that I desperately wanted to separate the male and female leads in my new novel and keep them away from each other. I wanted to make them feel my torment!” A hint of cruel menace flashed in Nancy’s eyes as she spoke. Then, hesitantly, he slid closer, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "Maya, I was wrong. Let's get back together, okay?" I blinked, stunned. No Fiona. The room was quiet, empty except for us. But my heart felt nothing. No joy. Just exhaustion. I pushed pushed him off. "Spencer, cut the act. What do you want this time?" I knew him too well. When Spencer played nice, it was always because he needed something. Dragging me from the village, acting like he cared... it had to be big.

It seems that Reid wants to keep me close. “Okay,” I nod, trying my best to keep my eyes locked on his face rather than letting them roam down to his bare chest- because if I thought he looked good out there in the dark tonight, he looks ten times better in the light. Reid’s staring back at me so intensely, like he’s fighting the same struggle. This damn mate bond has the sexual tension between us cranked up to a hundred; it suddenly feels like there isn’t enough oxygen in the room for the both of us.

Spencer nodded, "I see, all these just to justify sleeping off on me the moment we are done having sex? Okay, I'll believe that our baby is the cause for now, once you give birth, I'll see who you'll blame it on." Tisha moved closer to him and cupped his face, "speaking of sex, can your junior perform just one more time, not for the day though since this is just morning." Spencer shook his head, "oh, Tisha? There was a time when you would not even look into my eyes if I mentioned sex, but now you're so bold about it. I am proud of you. Do not worry, I am here to serve you and fulfill your every need and I'm happy you are not shy about it."

My breathing was heavy, the silence between all four of was damning, and the bond between us was smeared with a dangerous mix of anger, confusion, mischief and… Arousal. But to see it happen, and Reid being the one to do it, was turning my stomach and nerves against me. My anxiety was running at an all-time high; I felt unnaturally hot, my hands were shaking, and it felt as though some kind of drug was running through my veins, making me very antsy and fidgety. I wanted to run at the pair, but I had no idea who it would be that I would stand up for, so I stayed where I was. My cold, dirty feet were firmly planted on the well-beaten soil and grass. Reid huffed heavily, still mounted over Eli’s tired frame in a significant advantage, with anger pouring from him as he eagerly waited for him to respond.

She lowered her head and took a few more bites, making sure her stomach no longer hurt, before asking, "Does Mr. Reid like me?" Hunter's slender fingertips turned the pages of the book, his tone very calm. "What do you think?" "Did not like, liking is not like you." She answered quickly, but couldn't quite describe what liking felt like. She really liked Mr. H, but she was very aware that the love between them was also somewhat pathological, which would be simply unacceptable if placed on someone else. "Well, then I don't like you." He said this, his gaze still on the book in front of him.

I could feel the hard planes of his chest against my shoulder and the faint thud of his heartbeat. Andy cleared his throat. "Just business." Reid didn’t blink. "Is that so?" The air between them crackled with something unspoken but clearly dangerous. Andy's jaw tightened and his fingers flexed around his glass. Reid’s grip on me didn’t loosen, it kept getting tighter with his thumb pressing into the dip of my waist like a stake. I could practically see the tension between the two of them, there was clearly a rivalry. Finally cheering through the silence, Reid spoke again. "I’ll be taking my wife now."

Theodore said. "You come with me. She might listen to you since she admires you." Theodore nodded; together with Aurora, they entered the room. Angie was still cursing. The moment she saw Theodore walk in, she immediately stopped. "Mr. Spencer, you're here." She quickly sat up straight and fixed her hair. "Keep it down. There's no need to get so worked up over a novel," Theodore said. "Mr. Spencer, you don't know how terrible this author is! She's cursing me so badly. I'm going to curse her back! I'm already roasting her," Angie retorted, shaking with rage.
