Marian had spun on her heel, they had reached the borderland between the infants and tweens clothing, a tauntingly wide aisle.
“But not yet?”
“Blue…”
“He’s not as awful as you think,”
“You may have been too young to remember how serious his arrest was, but I wasn’t.” Blue turned on her heel, leaving her mother standing on the cusp of childhood purgatory. She returned to the male infant clothing. “Blue…”
“I’m not mad,” She glanced to her mother, retrieving the same train sweater in a powder yellow. She quite liked the red and dandelion together. Wished she could find one in her size. Snorted quietly at the thought. “I get it.”
