I whisper, pulling George behind a tree. The squirrel appears in less than two minutes, its nose twitching as it sniffs the air. It scurries along the trail, grabbing each piece of nut and fruit, relaxing more with every bite. As it moves closer to the clearing, I spot my bag hanging on its back like a prize. "Come on… just a little further," I murmur under my breath. It finally reaches the end of the trail, where I have placed a large walnut, almost as big as its head. The greedy little thing can't resist.

I shrieked and stumbled backward— And a squirrel jumped out. A small, brown, fluffy squirrel. It twitched its nose at me. I screamed like it was a demon crawling out of hell. “Are you possessed?!” I shouted at the creature as if it understood English. “Why would you jump at me like that?!” It chattered. Or maybe it cursed me back. I didn’t wait to find out. I turned around and ran. Not jogged. Not walked fast. Ran like something from the underworld was behind me.

His chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm, and with each breath, I found a fragment of peace. As Sebastian held me close, he continued to speak, his voice a soft murmur against the canvas of my anxiety. "You know," he said, his eyes twinkling mischievously, "I once read that squirrels have a habit of forgetting where they bury their acorns. Can you imagine being a squirrel with a terrible memory? It must be quite the challenge!"

I tell her and she scoffs like I am making shit up. “That’s what they want you to believe. The squirrels are ninjas in disguise. I’m serious Rosy. One day they will take over the world and then we will be sorry.” I try to stifle a laugh because she is being ridiculous. So I just nod and agree with her. Seriously, this wolf of mine has more issues than vogue. She has seriously lost the plot. The squirrel tilted its head, as if contemplating my question, before scurrying up the tree to a cozy nest hidden among the leaves. "I don't want to lose you," I whispered, feeling a sense of connection with the creature. The squirrel chattered softly in response as if understanding my words, but I was, as he ran out of sight, disappearing into the branches above.

He’s got some kind of panty-terminating trigger or something.”Squirrel two said.

A squirrel, stares at me and then runs up a tree. Hearing another noise from behind me, I start to run and trip. Frantically, I push off of the cement and stand up. Starting to run again without looking back, I reach the door to my hall and feel a tugging on my shirt from behind me while hearing a strange whisper that makes my hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

They tried to retreat, but an arrow shot from one of the squirrels managed to take one down. David was happy about the result, but his smile began to fade as his snails and squirrels were overwhelmed by the swarm. One of the vultures got shot down by spikes that came from an ant. "They're releasing their snipers, i wish we could have those instead...Retreat!" The minions nodded and began to run away from the insects. More spikes flew through the air and shot down the rest of the vultures, much to David's displeasure. But at least the beetles were safe...or so he thought.
