Busted. I stared at my phone, suddenly wondering if I had gone too far. He looked… annoyed. Just as I hesitated, a new message popped up from Liam. It was a sticker—a cartoon puppy in a yellow hat, eagerly nodding over a water bowl, and above its head were two bold words: "Mm-hmm!" I froze. A bold thought suddenly struck me— was Liam seriously searching for a cute sticker to send me just now? The very next message confirmed my suspicion.

A hand shot out, grabbed me, and yanked me inside. I gasped in shock, ready to scream, but her palm clamped over my mouth. "Shh. Don't make a sound," she hissed. Her next words made my blood run cold. "Dad and Mom have both been replaced by monsters." "What?" I stared at her, wide-eyed. "I know it's hard to believe," she said. "But I figured it out after going through the loop over and over. There's more than one monster." Her face was pale, lips quivering.

I kept pounding until the last of my strength drained away, and I collapsed on the floor. Then, a sliver of light cut through the darkness. Moving toward it, I saw that it was Rosa. Her once-proud face was now covered with deep, crisscrossing scars. Coupled with the cold gleam in her eyes, her whole presence exuded unsettling eeriness. From the dim cellar, she looked even more terrifying. "Hazel, were you reborn too?" I froze. "What?" "Why did Dexter get into Grandcrest College this time? Why did Theo blow through all his money? Even you got into college! Why are you still living better than me?"

His hand lifted, hovered just inches from the handle. If he turned it , if he stepped inside there’d be no undoing it. Not this time. He could finish what they started. A set of weird looking students—those with red glowing eyes and black scared symbols on their bodies— slowly walks in through the doors like possessed zombies. I bet those were the ones behind the ninth door I was eavesdropping on. They move slowly, closing in on us, and from behind the Ravens fly down. "What are we going to do?" Ravens grab the normal looking students close using their claws and peaks to destroy, while the possessed students transforms into monsters to fight. The cuff on my hand is useless. I can't do anything. I just keep screaming and dodging, trying to save

There were the usual ads for x-ray glasses and onion gum and joy buzzers and Charles Atlas, but one at the bottom caught my eye. SEA MONSTER PETS! HATCH THESE CREATURES IF YOU DARE! I’d seen ads for Sea Monkeys before, and Matt had told me they were a species of shrimp. But sea monsters? I read the fine print but the ad gave no details other than a legal-sounding paragraph about the company not being responsible for escaped creatures or any harm they inflicted. I looked at the cost, then jumped off the bed and grabbed my piggy bank from the bureau. I emptied the contents onto the bed and counted. I had enough money.

“No. They should be going to her. Push them away, Ronan!” Ronan tried. His voice grew desperate as he begged the creatures to turn. To leave them. To attack Calla instead. But the monsters did not listen. Their red eyes fixed on Tanya’s group. Saliva dripped from long teeth. They charged. The first monster leaped straight at the wolf closest to Tanya. Its jaws clamped down on his arm with a sickening crunch. The wolf screamed. Blood sprayed across the snow. He tried to stab it, but the creature shook him like a rag and threw him to the ground.

How would he be able to defeat a galaxy monster? Furthermore, there were three monsteriods controlling the galaxy monster behind it. Based on the current situation, Spencer already knew that it would be rather impossible for him to escape.
