It feeds on what you fear most.” “Then it will learn,” Serenya whispered, flames sparking faintly at her back, “that what I fear most has already been taken from me.” The vow hung in the silence, heavy and unbreakable. Far away, in the pit of shadows where Kaelen had fallen, his eyes opened. They glowed faintly with the abyss’s touch. He whispered her name once, before darkness swallowed him whole.

I threw on my leather jacket and a pair of boots. "Who's first?" Natalia stepped forward. "Alright." I took her hand. She nodded and we disappeared. The cold nothingness surrounded me. We popped back into existence. Hell was hot and humid. I could feel the damp air pressing against my skin. We stood before a black spire of dark obsidian. Veins of glowing gold fire laced the surface of the polished black stone. Natalia dropped my hand and led the way. The sharp spike drew tall into the dusky sky. As we drew deeper into the city, the spires grew taller.

He collected the reports and slowly read a few of my reports and hypothesis about this infection that is consuming the human mind. “What would you like to call this infection?” Azreal asked as I shrugged. “I don’t know, Rogue?” I asked as he raised a brow. “Abyss, we should call it Abyss.” Azreal said as I stared at him. “Why such a boring name? It could be vargo or Marré but Abyss…” “That is the only word I can use to express their pain. It’s deep, hollow and cold with nothing but voices echoing in their minds, forcing them to be someone they are not.”
