The room was cast into darkness, and I felt the sudden urge to hide away from the world.
I slumped down onto my bed, staring up at the ceiling. The chandelier above me sparkled, casting dancing shadows across the walls. It was oddly calming, and I let my eyes follow the shifting shapes. My thoughts were still racing, but I tried to focus on the light and the shadows.
