A faint voice whispered. "Thanks." I heard someone says followed by a soft wet kiss that lingered on my forehead for a minute. I smiled but my eyes decided to close to have a deep sleep not knowing whether it is my last breath or a new beginning... "What happened to her? Why is she not responding?" The room filled with lots of questions followed by a scream before I blacked out. Fate will decide what to do in my life... *

I chuckled, enjoying her panic. “Where is she?” She started to scream and tears fell down from her eyes. “Calm down, I will be back sometime.” I walked out of the door. “Are you trying to escape from me?” She screamed. Some kind of anger raged in me and I– again entered the room keeping big steps to grab her throat to make her suffer getting enough of air. “Do you want to die too early at this age?” I asked her as my eyes darkened. “I might die maybe but never in your hands.” She said it very confidently.

Love can hit you when you least expect it. It could be a soft easy wind that caresses you and gets stronger over time till it absorbs into your body and heart. Other times it can hit you like a gale-force wind and take every breath you will ever have, and breathe life into the person who took it in the first place. Laken stole my breath. She was my gale-force wind, and I will gladly give her every breath I have just to keep her safe, alive, and mine. If I have to live without her then I don’t want my breath. I don’t want anything but her. I will go to hell and back to get her from the grips of death.

Like the land beneath us is drinking something we didn’t offer. The tether shifts. Not sharp. Not severed. Just… quiet. The hum that usually lives behind my ribs—constant, wrong, hers—goes still. I love how her breath catches, sharp and unguarded, like I’ve stolen the air right out of her lungs without asking permission. Being sandwiched between the soft mattress and his hard body, Stella managed to get a hold of the sheets spread on the bed and twisted them under her grip.
