Salvatore stood to greet us. “Nathan, what a sight for sore eyes,” he expressed and held out his hand to shake mine. “Salvatore, great to see you again,” I said, shaking his hand. “Well, well. Who do we have here?” Salvatore smiled, looking over at Amelie. “Hi, Mr. Aventini,” Amelie spoke. “My name is Amelie. I’m Dr. Michaels's student assistant.” “Ciao, Bella,” Salvatore said as he took Amelie’s hand and kissed it. I wasn’t happy with Salvatore’s lips on her, but I wasn’t going to piss off the head of one of the most powerful mafias in New York City.

Walking away from her after saving her from the creep at the bar… Because I knew that no good could come out of me intruding in her life. I was Lorenzo Salvatore. The thirty-two year old Capo of the Italian fucking Mafia. And tonight… I let my guard down. The bar attendant was about to say something when Luciano suddenly walked in, his deep voice cutting him off sharply. “Damon, you have no right to come in here and order my staff!!” “Brother, you're here.” Damon smiled toothly, and stepped aside. “Are you going to take your brother's side or his side?” He said, eyeing the bar attendant. “I don't have no time for your nonsense, what are you here for?” “You're being mean, can't I have a chat with my brother? You didn't attend the dinner party, so I'm here.”

She yells at the top of her lungs while calming her frustration and anger toward him.

Nabi joined as well, “I think, it’s better for us to not get involved in anything like it.” After much silence, Steve said, “This might trouble Gloria but I feel like it’s work done by the men of Salvatore.” Everyone nodded at his comment. “Who is Salvatore?” I asked. “Zohan Salvatore, the king of Carnival,” Steve said and that’s when it clicked with me.

He offered. Liam shook his head in denial, not in the mood to drink, "No thanks." He glanced at Vin, who remained behind him with no intention of moving. Liam could tell that a confrontation was going to occur tonight, it seemed very unavoidable tonight. Don Salvatore could see that Liam was not afraid of him, and he couldn't have that if he were going to take the ring from him. So in an attempt to intimidate Liam, Don Salvatore began to reveal his true identity. "Allow me to properly introduce myself, Mr. Danvers," he said, his voice carrying an air of authority. "I am an underground boss, one of the most powerful Mafia bosses."

My jaw was locked, my chest tight, and my eyes… fuck…they could’ve cut through steel. Cassandra’s voice was still ringing in my head. The way she looked at me... like I’d failed her. I didn’t even see the SUV until the door cracked open and Salvatore stepped out. His eyes landed on me and for a split second, I saw it—the flicker of surprise. And he said nothing. I came to a stop in front of him, exhaled through my nose, and forced the words out through clenched teeth. “Start digging into Stacy.” I muttered, voice cold. “I don’t care how young she is. I want to know who she is, where she came from, who the fuck she’s connected to. Every damn detail. Friends. School. Family. I want it all.”

Salvatore barely made it to the entrance before strong arms seized him from behind. "No—please, no—" he cried out, struggling, but it was useless. They slammed him onto the ground and dragged him toward Steven. Dust clung to his knees as he was forced to kneel, trembling, his breathing labored. He should’ve stood tall. Fought back. That was what a Conti did. But there was no honor to salvage—not when his men lay dead, not when Alessandro’s loyal beasts were nowhere in sight. And Steven—he was unlike anyone Salvatore had dealt with. There was a coldness about him, not rage, just steady control that made him more terrifying.

“But do not confuse my generosity for weakness.” I turned around slowly, only for my eyes to meet Stephan still standing with his gun aimed directly at me—his finger lightly resting on the trigger. Don Salvatore remained seated at the head of the table, his elbows resting on the armrests of his chair. He hadn’t even looked up. “I don’t tolerate disrespect,” he continued, his tone colder now. “Not from my men, and certainly not from someone in your position. Do you think you can walk out of here because you feel like it?”
