His face changed into a frown and I quickly smiled at him. “I didn't know if you had eaten so I brought food for you,” I said. “So loving,” Salvatore said with a loud voice. “Hope there is more for the rest of us from where this came from since we don't have who to bring us good,”

They both looked toward the noise to see one of Salvatore’s gray-clad security guards standing in front of a thin man gesturing wildly while holding a camera. Salvatore took a deep breath as he turned back to her. “Looks like our private date is over.” Salvatore stepped away from her and offered a hand for her to regain her footing. She took it and offered him the divinity as her mood deflated. “You deserve this.” He took it and popped the whole thing into his mouth to hide his scowl. She couldn’t blame him. One of the happiest moments of her life had just been stolen from her.

The tobacco taste was rich, expensive - the kind of luxury that reminded everyone exactly who they were dealing with. Someone yelled, “ Isn’t this like the tenth time you have fired your workers today?” He scowled at the man who said that and turned around to hide his smile. Salvatore smiled. Like an actual smile. And if I hadn’t been looking at him so intensely, I wouldn’t have noticed it.
