Chapter 30 Drake could'nt accept the fact that his best friend Stephanie is now a blood sucking creature, can be one of a savage vampire. He packed his things before someone could find him. He knows that she will do everything to find him no matter what. But he's not yet ready to see her. He's afraid of her and he's thinking what if she would kill him and suck his blood 'til he lose life.

I said calmly. Her heels clicked lightly against the floor as she walked in, her steps were composed like she owned the space she stepped into. Darius left my office immediately. Stephanie stopped a few feet from the desk. “I heard things have changed,” she said lightly and my gaze shifted to her. “You’ve been hearing a lot lately.” A faint smile touched her lips. “I make it my business too.” Of course she did, Stephanie Vale didn’t survive in Moonfall by being uninformed.

That’s what this was, after all, wasn’t it? On the flight to the Haiti, Drake’s personal assistant Stephanie had secretly discussed with her nonstop about sexy island flings and how she couldn’t wait to have one. And it had made Sarah think, however briefly, that maybe she wouldn’t mind having one, too. Just a little fun to spice up her life before heading back to New York. She hadn’t expected anything to happen, though.

Drake doesn't have a Luna, so those duties are split between Stephanie and May, with Stephanie focusing on the packhouse while Maya keeps an eye on the pack members. Stephanie was Drake's mother's best friend, and her mate was the Beta of the Dark Howlers pack when Drake's father, Jacob, was the Alpha. Stephanie's mate died with Drake's parents. Stephanie has a daughter, Lisa, who was eight years old at that time, and who Drake treats like his baby sister. With the demise of Alpha and Luna of the Black Howlers pack, the situation was unstable, and Stephanie couldn't leave Drake on his own, so she decided to send her daughter to her sister, for safety reasons.

“How’s the pain?” “I’ll live.” I grunted as I picked up the books she had dropped to distract myself from the pain of her checking over my injuries. “I found those on Stephanie’s bookshelf.” She chuckled. “Thought you could use something to keep you busy. I picked that one because the author has my name.” I looked more closely at the books she had brought, chuckling when I saw that one was titled ‘The Rogue Queen’ by Rory McCauley-Hayman. I waved the second book titled ‘Breaking The Bond’, in the air.

But she stopped the moment she noticed them. After scolding the kids, Stephanie had spent enough time, crying in the kitchen. When she finally regained her strength and decided to go clear up the mess, she unfortunately met Rayder already there. She stopped walking immediately as fear filled her eyes. Oh, no. Her intentions had been to clean up the mess and leave before anyone would get home. But it turned out her plans would change. Rayder looked at her with fierce eyes. For a moment, she was tempted to run off. But what if the securities stopped her? That would make matters worst.

‘Are you here to get laid as well? Her excitement was enough to let me know she is hoping to get a good fuck tonight and would do anything to have that. ‘I'll pass, I just want to drink and go home.’ Stephanie stared at me as if I had gone crazy but did not push it. She waved her hand as if trying to get rid of something and looked into my eyes once again. ‘But you'd surely dance, right?’ Her eyes widened with expectation. ‘Sure! I wouldn’t miss dancing with you,’ I assured her causing her face to light up with a big smile.

He said and Stephanie was finally able to let out a breath “Thank God” Drake said in relief “Thanks William” the two rushed towards the office “Chloe are you asleep?” Drake saw her lying there with her eyes closed “No I’m not” she responded “Are you ok?” He continues “No I’m not” she responded again “I thought you were drunk” He said “No I’m not” Was she really not drunk? “Were you crying?” Stephanie felt like she was a little weak “No I wasn’t, I am not doing anything. I was not crying, I am not drunk but I am not okay” She cleared the air
