Stephanie’s POV: When I finished eating, I went back to my room since there was nothing else to occupy my time. I grabbed a book from the small stack on my desk and settled onto my bed, allowing myself to sink into the soft mattress. My body sprawled across the bed as I began to read. At least, I tried to read. The words blurred on the pages, refusing to stick in my mind. My thoughts wandered, drifting to places I didn’t want them to go—specifically, from one brother to another.

Quentin straightened up, mocking, "You know, she bears a striking resemblance to your step-sister Claire." The private room boasted advanced medical equipment and luxurious furnishings, undoubtedly high-end. Quentin casually flopped onto the sofa, rolling up his khaki pants to reveal mismatched socks. Lorneauxs glanced from the door to the sofa several times before finally taking a seat across from Quentin. "It is Claire," he admitted. "Pfft!" The shocking revelation made him inhale at an inappropriate moment. "Wait a minute— you're saying the girl on that hospital bed is Claire, your step-sister?!" Dr. Smith, holding an apple, pointed at the girl with his free hand, exclaiming.
