"A wolf attacked a senior student inside the library, according to the witnesses, but the police haven't found anything," Declan said as he darted a glance at Victoria.

Liam's POV The air outside the hotel is fresh, almost too clean. I breathe in deeply and head toward the town's local police station. Maybe if I focus on the work, I could stop thinking about Stephanie for a while. The station is small but busy. A receptionist sits behind a desk, her smile almost too bright. “Good morning,” she says, looking me over like she’s trying to place where she’s seen me before. “Good morning,” I replied. “I’m Liam Carter with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency. I’m currently investigating a case, and it led me to this town.”

I called out walking up to her where she stood by the driveway, she seemed to be in a heated conversation with a policeman, "Is there a problem?" I asked as I got to where they stood, "Paige, something is really wrong" she replied turning to face me, fear was written all over her face, "What happened this time?" I questioned my gaze landing on the policeman who just watched us, "He wasn't the one who did it, this is more serious than we thought" she continues confusing me the more, "Who wasn't the one who did what Lisa?" I asked turning to face the police officer for answers,

For now. The smell of Old coffee, Newspaper and cheap perfume was literally very intoxicating. I took three steps in…. straightening my gown in a final bid to calm the storm plaguing my mind. I took a deep breath walking towards a door with a gold plague that read “Commissioner M. Hale" “Ma’am…..You can’t go back there.” I stopped. Slowly turned. The officer blocking my way looked… young. Like his uniform still felt new on his skin. Like he hadn’t learned yet that some people didn’t come to police stations to be polite…..

I responded. "I am happy to know the police authorities are working hard on this. The killings have been random these days. I mean just a few days ago, a senior colleague was brutally injured by this monster," the lady explained. The woman extended her hand. "Pardon my manners, Officer. I am Dr. Steph Williams. I specialize in folklore and myths. Perhaps I can be of assistance?" I shook her hand gratefully. "I am Officer Ralph. Any help would be much appreciated." Dr. Steph took a seat beside me, and we delved into a deep conversation about werewolf legends and historical accounts of similar creatures.

She sat, trying as much as possible, not to show her fear. “I heard you had an early morning trip today…” Her heart skipped again. “…tell me, how was it?” She swallowed and forced a response. “Fine.” “How’s the substation? Don’t you enjoy drinking bland coffee?” She bit her lips. “Why are you interrogating me? If anything happens to me, the police know it’s Ray.” Stephen chuckled. “Did you tell the police about your rendezvous? Did you meet the policeman at the park after dropping by at the substation?”

Or next time it’s not paper. Damian saw it and went still. Police, he said. Now. Agent Reyes took it. Bagged it. FBI will run prints, she said. I don't want protection, I said. You don't get a choice, Damian said.

Cherry stood up abruptly, her father seemed to be unaware of the unwanted visitors. "Officers, you are here?" Cherry asked with a shaky voice which alerted her father. Stephen king looked up for the first time and stood up as well, he was shocked as well as surprised. "Officers, you are here, what's going on?" One of the officers walked up to him, "you are under arrest for an attempted murder and conspiracy, kindly come with us to the station." To The Reader, This novel was inspired by my life's experience as a Policeman in two separate towns, Seaside Heights and Spring Lake Heights Police Departments, NJ. Likewise, growing up in a town that was steeped in witchcraft, I gained a great deal of knowledge into the occult which served me well in Police Work. I combined these experiences to create this story, which is partly based on true events. William Kelly, a former Combat Marine, and a Corporal at the six-three precinct of the Heights Police has his world turned upside down when he answers a radio call of a multiple homicide at the East Coast Green Herbal Shop.
