*** She pulled up in front of a large shop-like mansion, she pulled out her phone and rechecked the address Steve sent to her. “It’s the one.” She muttered. She carried her bag and got out of the car. She walked majestically to the door and found a doorbell, which she pressed. She stepped back and waited for the door to open, which it did. “Tasha!” Steve opened the door with a very hearty smile on. He was wearing an apron, and under the apron was a black singlet, and a black Jean trousers. It looked like a work outfit. The apron, his singlet and some part of his skin was covered with paint.

Jane was the first to react, cursing at me, “You bitch, what nonsense are you spouting—an ability? Go die!” David immediately turned to Victor with forced respect. “Mr. Kane, my nephew has a fever. He’s probably about to awaken an ability too. Please kill Apple and avenge my son! The smell of motor oil and decay filled my nostrils, mixing with the metallic scent of my own blood. In front of me was Steve, and seeing his face clearly for the first time since last night in the alley made my jaw clench with rage. He was shorter than I remember, with greasy hair and cold eyes that reminded me of a snake. His cheap suit was wrinkled, and cigarette smoke clung to him like a foul cloud. He was extending his phone in front of my face, the screen glowing bright blue in the dim warehouse light.

"What the hell happened..?" I winced as I remembered my mess. I walked out and looked at the newcomer, stopping a few feet away from him. "What are you doing here?" He was disheveled, bandages were messily wrapped around his arms and torso; his only article of clothing was torn-up denim jeans that had splotches of dried blood.
