Please!” Roger growled fiercely and drew me behind him, his hair was on end and his teeth began to elongated. Just her bed, the monitor, and a small desk on the left of her bed. As her eyes began to close, her door clicked opened, and her eyes flashed open. And there he was. Dr. Rogers stood there with a tablet in his hands, typing on it, his lips pulled down in a frown. He was old, but not too old, looking about to be in his fifties, silver hair slicked back to hide the fact that he was balding. He had gray eyes, the color of storm clouds, and had facial hair that wrapped around his jaw. He looked up at her sternly, and she met his gaze steadily.

He stepped back and poured the hot chocolate into two mugs. He put her mug on the coffee table between them and took place in an easy chair opposite her with his hot chocolate in his one hand. “And besides,” he said after sipping from his mug. “It is good to meet a woman with more hair on their head, than me.” “If we grow it a little bit more, together we can donate enough hair for a descent wig for cansa.” “No, I will have to cut mine before next week. My bosses are coming through from South Africa. If they don’t recognise me from my ID or passport, I will probably not get paid for my work ever again.”

Rodgers had actually snapped at me was when I forgot to get him his coffee. Mr. Carl Rodgers has been working at Allan Establishment for nearly 10 years now. His words were even-keeled, but I picked up the thread of unease underneath. A burly fighter with a jagged scar across his forehead snarled. “Rogues, I tell you. They’re messing with our heads, trying to spook us out.” His tone was rough, unyielding, his claws catching the light. Steve’s features hardened, his jaw locking. “This doesn’t smell like rogue tactics. Feels off, something weirder.” His response was icy, dismissive. The fighter huffed, stepping up. “And what makes you the expert on rogues, Beta Steve? You’ve never tangled with one.” His words dripped with mockery, his stare defiant.

I said. "My name is Kyros and I am your protector. Well, I was your protector when you were born, but I was murdered when you were two but there was something in your mind which seemed unable to forget me," he sighed but I didn't remember anyone called Kyros when I was child. He didn't even have a face. I guess that didn't really help, perhaps if he had a face, I would be able to remember who the hell he was but he was faceless and his voice didn't ring any bells either.

I muttered between gritted teeth, trying to prepare myself for the next one. "Don't worry, Bonnie, I promise you're very close," Dr. Michaels said with a soft, encouraging smile. "I can see the top of his head! He has a full head of black hair!" Robbie gasped. "You hear that? He has black hair! You would've been worried if he was a brunette," he teased. A breathy laugh pushed past my lips despite everything. Even in moments like this, when I felt like my body was being torn in two, Robbie still knew how to make me laugh. That was one of the things I loved most about him. He never faltered in lifting me up.
