Steven patted Summers as she cried on his shoulder When Steven said hospital, he meant the underground clinic which he had built in the conglomerate's mansion. He had employed tons of medical personnel and all had sworn an oath to work for him and keep their lips sealed. Anything other than, meant death and these personnel knew better than to snitch on X-HABIT. They were paid handsomely, so money wasn't a problem. A four wheeled drive with tinted glasses pulled up beside Steven. The driver, Ace, hopped out and opened the doors for Steven, Vandana, Summers and Jhene. After the quartet had boarded the vehicle, Ace got behind the wheels and zoomed off.

Adrian requested. “I think the Xanders family are in for a war,” Steve declared, his voice thundering with the weight of anger. ⸻

"Oh, Xavien, I am so happy for you two. But do I even dare to ask what is wrong?" "She is pregnant, Steve." "Pregnant? Did you say pregnant?" "Yes, I am going to become a father. Can you fucking believe that? I, Xavien Caruso, is going to become a father." Steve goes silent for what seems to be a few uncomfortable moments too long. He has sensed that there is a but in my voice; there is something that is not letting the joy come through with the laughter that is held there. "But what is wrong?" "What do you mean?"

XAVIER It took quite a moment before Steve finally spoke, his voice calm. Calculating. Cautious. Like he was schooling a kindergartener. “He’s playing you, Xavier. Just like he’s been playing all of us. Just like he played you. Me. My mom. Your mom. And every other person tangled in his web. You think you’re in control, but you’re not. And you don’t even see it. You’re too busy trying to keep up with him, trying so hard to earn his approval that you do not notice the hold he has on you.” His words hit me like a slap to the face, but he wasn’t done. “ He doesn’t care about you, man. He never has. He never would. At least, not in the way you think. He only cares about his damned legacy.”

“What a coincidence. My daughter is planning to apply to that conservatory too.” Steve lifted his glass politely. Xena widened her eyes in a show of surprise. “Oh? So you also know Dr. Stone? I saw the two of you talking earlier. You seemed quite familiar.” Steve shook his head. “No, tonight was actually the first time I met Dr. Stone. But I’ve read about her accomplishments.” “Oh, I see. I thought you already knew each other. Since you work with my friend Felix, and Dr. Stone is his ex-wife—”

Steve replied with folded arms. Xena scoffed and glared at Emma. “She is no Luna,” she said. “She is a deserter.” “I think you believe so much in your needles and that is why you think I will not rip out your heart where you stand,” Steve said in a serious low tone. Xena looked at him for a while, as if she was seeing him for the first time. “You are bonded to her,” she said. “Now you know how I feel when you threaten her,” Steve said.

Her hand loosened and I retreated my own. "The kind of conversation and you guys held towards each other before did kinda gave it away." I drawled out, picking up my shake. She drew out another sigh. "Sylvie was my bestfriend and a junior to me." I absentmindedly nodded, twirling the plastic within my hand. "Her bro---" She was cut off but a loud thud of the door and it took me all not to flinch at the spot. Old habits, die hard. "Xander and Xavier." She paused momentarily, rolling her eyes again.

Chris roared angrily. “ She's... She's.... ” Steve stammered. He was unable to talk due to the unbearable pain he was passing through under Chris wrath. He couldn't bear it anymore as he felt his body growing weaker each passing minutes with the blood he was losing. “ She's what ?? ” “ She's... please take the knife out... from my neck and I'll talk ” Steve said with harsh breath. “ No. I won't, tell me who the hell is Katherine first ” Chris said.

Piper. I gape at him, caught off guard by the arrogance lacing his words. “No,” I snap, recovering. “The CEO got me this dress. Who the hell is Santa anyway? I’ve never heard of such a name.” His grin falters just a little, but he quickly recovers, his eyes dancing with amusement. “Santa,” he repeats, his tone dripping with mockery, “is an Alpha who can grant your every wish. But I suppose if you’d rather believe it was the CEO…”

Xavier chuckles and holds his hand up in surrender. “I'll leave you two to it then,” Ramsey said and leaves, with the server following behind him once more. I'm left alone with Xavier once again who's watching me intently. “Who was that man?” I ask. “That's Ramsey Gordon, CEO of Taste. He's also the head chef.” “Oh…” I have more questions but I don't get to ask them because Xavier stands and comes around the table, grabbing my plate from the table. “Now this,” Xavier says, gesturing to the first dish, “is truffle butter filet mignon.”
