He stresses. “So you’re really not going to help me?” I question as I watch Xion stand from his chair before walking over to his kitchen. “I can get you a new phone and a safe place to stay but that’s about it. I’m not sure what else you expect for me to do in this situation.” He dismisses as he digs through his kitchen drawers to retrieve a small baggy of cocaine.

The faint smell of rubber mats, metal, and sharp cologne. No one at the front desk. Just the low hum of the air conditioner. I’m still looking around when I hear boots—heavy, deliberate—coming from the hallway that leads to the offices. The next second, Steve appears. No gym shirt this time. Just black joggers slung low on his hips and nothing else. The tattoo sleeve on his left arm continues across his chest—one long thin line under his left pec, another across his lower ribs. He doesn’t smile. He just looks at me.

Stephen quickly served them some fresh, steaming coffee, his hands shaking slightly before he took his cue and exited the room, shutting the heavy oak doors behind him. Ethan immediately picked up his cup, taking a loud sip before turning to Marissa with a patronizing grin. "Marissa, remember my friend Xavier and Steve back from our university days? I told you about them before." Marissa shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She lifted her chin, her eyes darting to mine for a brief, fleeting second before she looked away. "I think I do remember Steve... but not Xavier. No wonder he looked familiar when I first met him on the street."

Xavier asked politely. "Where is Steve?" Laura asked and Mr. Xavier paused for a moment before answering her. "He has gone to attend some of his meetings. I can connect you with him on the call." He answered politely. "No need, I am feeling hungry. Can you get me food?" Laura asked him and he nodded his head and then turned back to the door from where he had come out. Laura took out a long breath while rubbing her chest, "God, this man is too scary just like a creepy ghost."

“You see, Rhea actually anticipated that you would not want to help her and so she had a back up plan. That back up plan would involve digging up a few graves, chanting some incantations, and doing some other weird stuff. I wouldn’t be giving you the full details of that plan because I don’t want you sticking your nose up in my business, but If you eventually get to help your cousin, send her my goodbye message. I did a good job serving her these past years and it’s only fitting that I take Steve as my wage.” Xavier stared at Mork “And who is Steve?” Mork smiled. “The man that would give rise to my dynasty.”

Xavier explained. Steve's eyes immediately looked sharply at Harvey who was in front of him. "What?! Hey, Harvey! Are you kidding me?” Steve pretended to be angry because he wasn't happy with the explanation he had just heard, more so to get rid of Xavier's suspicions of being a member of the rescue team. Now Steve pointed hard at Harvey's chest. “I know you often suspect me, but your accusations this time are completely unreasonable. Confinement?! Geez, how could I do confinement?!”

Behind me, Xavier gently and discretely pulls my arm back, his hand reaching for the knife. Before Steve has time to understand what's happening, Xavier grabs the knife, and throws it with complete precision and accuracy into his skull. I see his body slowly react to what has just happened. His knees bow down to the ground, where his body falls down in a dead drop shortly after. Steve is lying on his back, with the knife sticking out the front. A pool of blood forming at his side. Stunned, my mouth falls open. I turn to Xavier impressed with what he's just done, only to see him collapse to the ground. I quickly reach for him, and help him to stand up.

Katherine’s voice was calm, but her fingers tightened around her parents’ hands as she gently led them toward the living room where Steve was standing. “Mom, Dad… I want you to meet Steve. He’s my husband.” She swallowed before continuing. “This is Nerine, his daughter. And this is Luke, his friend.” David and Leonor both looked at Steve at the same time. If they were judging purely by appearance, the difference between him and Richard was obvious. Steve stood tall and composed, even with a bandage wrapped around his arm. There was something solid about him—quiet confidence, the kind that didn’t need to prove itself.

She asked as she noticed the ring on his finger. “Yeah…I am.” Steve replied. “I guess…you don’t have a happy home right?” She asked. “Yeah…I apologize for the way I went off you last night, honestly I just couldn’t control myself.” Steve muttered sadly. “It’s fine…at least I enjoy it…you’re so good in bed!” She exclaimed. “What the hell….” Steve said to himself. “You nearly died last night…and you aren’t even bothered!” Steve said in disbelief. “Well.. I’m not dead.. so cut the crap.” She said blatantly. “Seeing your face clearly now…I know you, you’re MR STEVE PARKER, the CEO of RUSEL LTD.” She added.

Steve asked. He was very impatient who can’t be able to take this suspense anymore. “Steve, after confronting from that server I came to know that the man behind all this is Levi Harrison and he has some old grudges against you.” Steve was rubbing his temple and trying hard to think about this person, Levi Harrison. He is wondering, has he ever heard this name before? But got nothing. “I still don’t remember who is this Levi Harrison and what enmity he has from me. Do I know him?” Steve asked Ethan.
