ZUBA: Tragedies of a Vampire Princess

ZUBA: Tragedies of a Vampire Princess

All they knew was that their lovely daughter had eloped with the stranger. That was something that troubled them a lot because as custodians of the vampires, they were under obligation to make the princess dance to the royal drums. For only then was she supposed to shed her blood and mate with her prince charming of noble birth. However Dario had other plans behind the royal back. He neither took Zuba to the royal square nor to the king at the royal residence. He shrewdly took her to the village of his descent where most of the nobles that worked with him stayed. He acted on the advice of they that were with him.

Leesa's Advent

Leesa's Advent

“That’s a lot of questions, I know. Do you know anything about zombies?” Dr. Clerval took a last puff from his pipe and placed it carefully back into the ashtray. “Reanimated corpses have been a theme of old folk tales for centuries,” he said, lapsing into his teaching voice. “They are especially connected to the voodoo practiced in places like the Caribbean and Africa. It’s usually a witch doctor or sorcerer who brings the person back to life with a spell. In the last hundred years, zombies have become increasingly common in literature, and a bit later, in film. In these modern stories, it’s usually some kind of plague or radiation that turns hordes of corpses into flesh-eating monsters.”

Their eyes were empty, unfocused, and they were both wearing a strange, hollow smile. The rescue team leader stepped forward. "Mr. Sands? Mrs. Sands?" Dad suddenly clutched the tin of spam against his chest and shrank backward, his eyes wide. "Shh. Be quiet," he whispered, his voice shaking. "There are zombies out there. Going outside means death. "This is the last of our food. We have to ration it. We have to make it last." Mom nodded along beside him, completely serious. "One less mouth to feed. You'll get to live a few more days."

The Pack's Vampire

The Pack's Vampire

She wondered with a brief but sharp stab of pain who Samantha would have looked like, before pushing the thought away. “Alright. There’s something else…” She gripped Lauren’s hands. “The scary people who ate that guy’s face last night… They’re the ones spreading this disease. Somehow it got into the water, or something, but they’re also wandering the town, biting people, and people who get bit, turn into them… Zombies, Rhett is calling them. Do not leave the house or let anyone in unless you’re sure they’re… Well, just be really careful, please. But don’t hurt them… they’re victims too. Long story.”

Barbara Loheide Melendez
This series is epic, a real nail biter! Yes, it is dark and touches on many uncomfortable issues, but there is redemption and forgiveness and healing. It shows that people can overcome their past and true change is possible with love and communication. I love the characters, especially the vampire.
Fox 2005
very dense story. highly recommended to start with book one, else you are missing too many information needed to understand the different timelines and points if view. yet these arches are more than necessary for the density. showing perspectives, helping the reader to understand the characters...

M. I. A (Merciless In Action)

M. I. A (Merciless In Action)

Johnson ➡ Come on talk to me, what happened? . Zombie ➡ One of my niggers died last night, he was tortured and stuffed with Nightshade. I told him not to stick his nose but he refused to listen, now he's dead like a rat. . What was happening? People are dying and so far it shows they're being tortured before stuffing them with Nightshade, maybe he was spying on them to give the Big prize, this is bad news as far as I know three people have died because of this. I consoled Zombie and went into my room.

Defenders of the Crown

Defenders of the Crown

Her green eyes held many secrets which he would certainly uncover soon. "I have a proposition." The King's interest perked up. He wanted to know what the she-wolf had up her sleeves so he gestured for her to continue. "Three years ago, humans first released a breed of scientifically enhanced Zombies with higher intelligence. Since then, I have been monitoring their progress and movements. "I infiltrated some of the government labs and discovered some rather...interesting things," she said offhandedly with a serious look on her face. At that, the king already suspected what she had planned but wanted to see it all play out.

Vickie: Dr. by day. Zombie Hunter by night (Book 1)

Vickie: Dr. by day. Zombie Hunter by night (Book 1)

“Megan’s story about the woman wanting to build an army to overthrow the government is just that, a story. Oh, the old woman was working on building an army alright - as are others - but it isn’t to over throw the government. In the darkness of the shadows of life, a war has been raging for centuries. It is between the zombie leaders and the vampires.” When I gasped, he raised his hand to stop me. “Don’t get hung up on the vampire image you find in movies and books. Nor the zombie image, for that matter. They aren’t like that. Just like advanced zombies can blend in with society undetected by the average human, so can vampires.

Dawn

Dawn

It made it easier and faster for the people to enter the east. Gunshots would ring out after one another, and every time Farrah hears it, she would flinch. It wasn’t as if she never heard of it, it was just that every time that sound would stop, it means someone is either dead or on the verge of it. It took several hours before the ability-holders finally eliminated the two zombies, with 23 people as casualties. She heard cries of agony throughout the night, yet no one dared to comfort them. In this world where having to live a day is a blessing, there’s no use of drowning yourself in agony. You must be strong, because maybe tomorrow—you’re the next one to perish.

The others nodded as they also felt something wrong but why? "If I found the person who did this, I will punish him severely" Evan Potter sternly said and gaze on everyone. They quiet own and started to analyze situation as to why the zombies are forcing themselves inside. "They are attracted to noises, human scents and...?" Zeke Santos mumbled as he ponder. "uhmmmm... Why are you bleeding, Captain?" Ariel Montes asked when he noticed a blood stained on his arm. Everyone looked at Evan Potter's blood stain, then, looked at each other.

Frequently Asked Questions

I think we're past the point where generic 'group holes up in a mall' plots cut it anymore. The genre's evolved, and the best zombie stories now use the apocalypse as a lens to examine really specific, often brutal, human conditions. A stand-out for me is 'The Girl With All the Gifts' by M.R. Carey. It flips the script entirely—the 'monster' is the protagonist, a incredibly intelligent child who also happens to crave human flesh. Her survival isn't about barricades and bullets; it's a heartbreaking navigation of her own nature versus her humanity, seen through the eyes of the scientist studying her. The ending is a gut-punch that redefines what 'survival' and even 'humanity' might mean for the next epoch.

For a completely different, almost clinical angle, 'World War Z' (the book, totally different from the movie) is a masterpiece of geopolitical and social survival. Max Brooks structures it as an oral history, interviewing survivors from all over the globe. You get the tactical failure of the Battle of Yonkers, the psychological horror of the astronaut stranded on the ISS, and the chilling efficiency of the North Korean solution. The uniqueness lies in its scale—it's about how entire civilizations, with their existing political and cultural flaws, adapt or collapse. The survival story isn't one person's, it's humanity's autopsy and prognosis, and it's terrifyingly plausible in its details.
