As Elena slipped into unconsciousness, Alpha Carmichael mind linked his head scout. 'Send a messenger to Howling Warriors, tell them one of the tri mates has been captured and tortured. Tell them we will go to war by their side, we will leave for Howling Warriors as soon as Alpha Stalker sends a confirmation back.' For the first time in his reign, The Midnight pack would choose a side. The battle lines had been drawn.

Even now, sweat-slick and surrounded by war prep, he found a way to tease her into a smile. Some warriors, tournament survivors now that had also joined us, moved with particular precision under her command. I caught their murmurs during a water break. One of them, a hulking Willowridge transfer, wiped his brow. “Thought Warrior of the Crest was a gift because of the Goldmoon Alphas. Watched her fight, though… she earned it. Beat me without breaking a sweat.” The scarred Ironbark female beside him nodded. “Luna’s the real storm. Makes you want to bleed for her.”

Then I hopped in the jeep and headed down to the training grounds. When I arrived I hopped out and had to dodge one of my warriors who had just gotten thrown through the air. I looked over to the ring to see who it was and it was Storm. Her hair was pulled up into a bun she had a sports bra and loose work out shorts. Her beautiful face was tinted red and you could see the sweat dripping off of her. I was so proud as to how hard she was training. I went over to her and kissed her cheek my hand on her arm. One of the warriors handed her a water.

~Hunter’s Point of View~ I was enjoying my nice, quiet day off soaking in my huge tub. It had been a long week and my brothers and I rotated being on active duty and on call. I was aching for my week off. They were few and far between anymore since it seemed like everyday someone else was being a menace, being difficult. My brothers and I were Shadow Warriors, a coalition of various supernatural beings that keep the peace between each other and between our own kind. It’s a damn hard job, but someone has to do it.

Emily and Liam stand side by side, their eyes reflecting a mix of determination and concern. The wind whips through the trees, leaves rustling in a symphony of anticipation. Emily's voice rises above the howling gusts, her words a rallying cry. "Brace yourselves, my pack! We face a storm not only in the skies but within our hearts. She snorted as she followed the warriors out of the house and climbed into the back of the SUV where one held the door open for her. The two warriors were the silent types. They didn’t say a word to her and the radio was soft. Reese turned her head and stared out of the window. She was nervous. She’d done her due diligence and researched the Black Claw pack. It seemed that they were one of the stricter packs, half of their warriors failed out of warrior camp and that even the King’s warriors trained with Black Claw. Troy Madden had partaken in his first pack war when he was fourteen and had been instrumental in the demise of three packs since then. She shuddered. How the hell was she suppose

Our loyalty to one another and our commitment to protecting our territory will guide us through this difficult time. At night, our pack warriors and I, hide behind the thick trees, waiting for any sign of danger. We had positioned a few of our strongest warriors at the boundaries, including Alpha Daryl and his formidable squad. The rest of us, including me and my trusty companion Hunter, were the invisible backup for our warriors.

I called out, “before our banquet officially begins, I’d like to present something special. A glimpse of the future under my chairmanship.” I nodded to a guard by the main doors, who blew three short blasts on a silver horn. The massive oak doors swung open, revealing rows of uniformed wolves standing at attention. “Behold,” I announced proudly, “the elite Sapphire Sky warrior formation. The finest fighters in ten territories, trained personally under my supervision.” At my signal, the warriors marched forward in perfect formation, their armor gleaming under the lights. Each carried ceremonial weapons—silver spears and moonstone daggers—that sparkled dangerously.

“West Fang and Starfire packs.” I smiled at that. “Seems you see some reasoning?” he asked. The audacity of this man! West Fang was a pack that were filled with warriors, and they made the best weapons. Starfire, on the other hand, is a mine pack. The resources gotten from there are used to boost our wealth. “Isn’t that exploitation, Hansel?” I asked. “Add some respect to my name,” he said with gritted teeth. “It isn’t. This is a fair trade.”
