The storm outside had added something to the house—a feeling of being trapped, like they couldn’t escape, and somehow that made the air feel thicker.
“Is there a chance of the storm not happening?” Zendaya inquired as she bit her lips.
Jayden immediately brought out his phone so he could check the weather app to ascertain.
“Looks like we’re in for a heavy one,” he said, shaking his head. “Won’t be going anywhere soon.”
Zendaya sighed, glancing around the mansion. “Great. So, now we’re stuck here.”
“Guess so,” Jayden replied, voice dry. “Looks like we’ll have to make the best of it.”
