In song. Luna walked the spiral slowly, her steps syncing with the new rhythm. It wasn’t fractured anymore. It was layered. The lullaby had become a shield, a seal, a story. She whispered the child’s name again, letting it settle into the soil. The Grove pulsed in time. Not in prophecy. In promise.

Mary withdrew her hand and looked at the old lady with a questioning gaze, "What are you saying? What way?" The old lady looked at Mary and said, "You want a child, there is only one. Will you accept it or not? Do you want it or not?" Hearing this, Mary was overjoyed, "I want a child! Can you help me, please?" Without saying much, the old lady took out a package of medicine from her cloth bag and said, "Drink it on the full moon night this month. When you and your husband are intimate with each other, you will have a child."

Even up until now when I was 18 years old, I still listened to them. Before I stripped down my clothes and turned the shower, I played the most sentimental lullaby on my phone. I say with a determinate nod even though my tears haven’t stopped, I must do this, otherwise I will never be able to sleep again peacefully. I want the full truth this time, not some story where he is the knight in the shining armor. I want explanations! And I want confirmations! "Playing prenatal music for the baby." Dead silence. Then Roy's voice came back, suspicious. "Prenatal... music? You mean that kind of prenatal music?" "Yeah, probably that." "Quit messing with me. You and Lex haven't seen each other in ages. How could you possibly be pregnant?" I answered evenly, "The baby's not his." His voice shot up an octave. "Wait, what?! You're married? And pregnant?!" "Why? So hard to believe I could get married and have a baby?"

I said and went inside first. I missed another chance to tell him. Perhaps, tomorrow I’d be able to tell him. Lucas settled between us and again I saw how Logan’s face showed disappointment. Was he planning to sleep beside me? “Mommy, can you tell me a story? It helps me to sleep easily.” Lucas turned to cuddle with me. “I am not good with stories but I’ll tell you one tonight about a little girl who was the princess of her parents just like you but one day, she was left alone.” I said.

Luna muttered, but without heat. Lyra carried her into the nursery and set her gently on the bed. Luna immediately grabbed for the stuffed wolf in the tiny lab coat and hugged it to her chest. “Story?” Luna demanded. “Short one,” Lyra warned. “You have toddler clinic in the morning.” “Clinic is boring,” Luna declared. “You say that now,” Lyra said. “Wait until they let you wear a white coat.” Luna considered this, then nodded. “Okay. Story about a coat.”

I smiled and moved in with him. As we stepped into the marbled floor lobby, a big but silent WOW escaped my lips. Hanging around near the center, by the counter was a chandelier of bubbles. Or should I say bubbles forming a chandelier? On one dim side was a glass panel revealing the blinking city lights and the opposite was the vast sea lit naturally by the bright full moon. What a serene and romantic view! A red carpet was laid at the center aisle perhaps leading towards the various rooms. An attendant approached us, "Do you have any reservation Sir?"

Elena’s Pov The constant bickering outside my bedroom and the crying of my baby startled me. I tossed and turned on the bed, trying to get rid of the noise but couldn't. “Why can't I get a perfect sleep!” I groaned in frustration, sat upright, and carried my baby from his cot. After a thousand years of singing a lullaby, my baby effortlessly moved to deep sleep and I gently placed him back on his cot. I sighed. I had only been a mother for a few weeks and I was completely exhausted from the task.
