The Moon Chose Me Twice
The adrenaline is a drug, numbing everything but the need to kill.
I tackle the nearest mercenary, carrying him over the edge of the skylight. We crash through the glass, landing on the floor below. I don't stop. I snap his neck before the glass settles and launch myself back up the service ladder.
By the time I reach the roof ledge again, the line is vibrating.
I look down.
Six stories below, in the dark alley, a black van is waiting. The side door is open. The mercenary with the baby is on the ground, unclipping. He jumps into the van.
