I got up and looked all over the room till I found my phone. I ran to my closet and pulled out my suitcase, as I was about to start stuffing it with clothes Beatrice came in, I paused for a while thinking she was going to go tell Ryan I was about to run but instead she started helping me properly pack. Edmund reached toward her again, but before he could close the distance, another car pulled up. The door opened, and Beatrice stepped out into the flashing lights. --- Beatrice had been standing in the shadows for some time, watching. Half her face was ruined—a map of angry scars and twisted flesh that made strangers avert their eyes. She hadn’t set foot outside the house in months, hiding her disfigurement from the world. But now, seeing Serena and Miriam crumpled on the ground, a sharp and bitter satisfaction welled up in her chest. Still, confusion flickered across her expression.

“You don’t own me anymore, Xander.” His lips pursed into a tight line as his whole body coiled like a predator about to pounce. But he didn’t argue. In the back seat, Beatrice was doing her best to make herself as inconspicuous as possible. "This rascal. So he's been pursuing Dr. Xanthos. Beatrice frowned, clutching her tote bag tighter to her arm as she saw a strange car parked outside her bungalow apartment. Her heart started beating faster as she took slow steps, hoping that it wasn't who she thought it was. She had no idea who the car belonged to but there was a chauffeur standing outside the car, just by the door to the driver's seat. She didn't know much about cars but she knew it was a luxurious one. The plan was to ignore and go straight into her apartment like she saw nothing but Bea was forced to stop in her tracks when the driver opened the door to the back seat and then she saw an awfully familiar face come out of the car.

Beatrice watched in morbid fascination as Macbeth’s withered features disappeared and a new face emerged. ‘You!’ Beatrice began fighting helplessly against her bonds. ‘Too late the girl finds some perspective,’ said the figure below. ‘It can’t be! Maud looked at the dials on the dashboard.

She gasped. “Wait… that’s the car? You drove that?” “Yes,” I murmured. She rushed toward it like a child spotting candy, circling the vehicle in disbelief. “Oh my God,” she whispered, eyes wide as they scanned the sleek red Porsche Taycan. “Whose car is this, Julia?” I hesitated. “I… I guess it’s mine.”

"Well, then drop me off here!" "You want to get off? Fine!" Beatrice began to slow down the car. Pulled over. Letting Cheryl get out of the car. "Damn it! I hate you!" Cheryl glared at Beatrice. Her head was still spinning, and she felt like she wanted to throw up again. Beatrice let out a soft snort. She accelerated the car to a high speed. "Don't act up, Cheryl. I won't stop you if you want to get off—" Before Beatrice could finish her sentence, their car got hit from behind.

With all the strength in her body, she pressed down on the brakes while steering away from the car that suddenly pulled up in front of hers. Thankfully, she was able to escape the crash. Her eyes fell shut tightly for a second as her entire body trembled beside her. But then she heard it. Her son's voice as he cried out for his mother. "Miss Summers! Miss Summers! Are you alright?!" Beatrice yelled out as she shook the driver's seat. Rebecca's eyes shot open and her head snapped backwards towards the back seat. "Timothee! Are you okay?" "He's okay." Beatrice responded. "Are you okay?"

MAYA’S POV The luxury SUV tore down the highway as my mother, Beatrice, pushed the engine to its limit. My hands were shaking, not from fear, but from a hot, burning rage. "I can’t believe this!" I screamed, slamming my fist against the leather dashboard. "Scott Beckett? That boring, weak man? How did he even find out about the rule? He doesn’t have the brains to look through old property deeds!"
