Silently, whispering calm words. “I can’t wait to meet you in a few months, baby. I love you and I’m fighting hard for us.” I placed my phone on the pillow next to me and shut my eyes. The exhaustion finally kicked in, and my body felt like it was going through hell. I haven’t been to my doctor after being choked out. The bruise should be clearing out in a week or two. Perhaps even less time than that if my body chooses to self-heal. Sleep was rough. I felt like I was awake even when I knew I wasn’t.
