Sun Bleached Flies Dancing On My Own Novels & Stories

The sun had begun its slow, bleeding descent behind the jagged basalt of the Devil’s Tooth, turning the white Salt-Flats into a sea of bruised crimson. But it wasn't the sunset that held Leo Vane’s attention. High above the shimmering heat-haze, a cluster of silent, charcoal-grey specks moved with a mathematical precision that nature could never mimic.

I wave her off, turning towards the opposite direction and laying back on the dress. I watch the clouds shift, floating lazily amongst the blue firmaments. The birds sing above head, the leaves rustle with the wind, the buzz of the bees as they dance from flower to flower, the feeling of the cool midday breeze against my cheek, pollen particles drifting into my nostrils as I inhale a deep breath. "You should have at least waited a week before you were out and about again my lady. This is simply not right, why insist on laying on the dirt this way? You should be on your comfortable bedding resting in the shade not under this sunlight"

On the final day of our graduation trip, an extreme heat wave struck without warning. I was unfortunate enough to suffer heat exhaustion, but my girlfriend, Claire Whitmore, gave all the electrolyte water to her male best friend, Alex Sterling. “You’re usually in good health, and you know first aid. Just drink some bottled water and take a break. “But Alex is different. He’s always been physically weak. If he doesn’t replenish his electrolytes, something could go wrong.” Too dizzy to argue, I had no choice but to ask the other members of our group for help. ~~May 19, 1946~~ On a picnic blanket sat two striking men, Blaze Neptune Hunter and Dexter Aquilo Gunner. Blaze gazes at the sky, admiring the blue and fluffy clouds, sunbeams piercing through the canopies of trees as the cool morning breeze caused the trees to sway luxuriantly. Blaze's eyes emitted a profound, natural radiance that sparkled within. His irises possessed a truly golden glimmer, radiating with such brilliance that it illuminated his entire countenance and penetrated to the depths of his soul.

I got onto the dance floor I got a sweet strange scent. I paused for a couple of minutes looking around wondering why I could perceive such a sweet strange smell. “What's happening to me?!” I muttered to myself shaking my head and trying to take off the silly sweet smell in my head. I took in more steps headed for the dance floor ignoring whatever I could suddenly perceive. On getting to the dance floor, the scent became stronger than ever. I looked around me wondering what it was or who rather, she swayed her hips over to me as she wrapped her arms around my neck from in front of me as she danced to the tone of the music playing in the background. The minute our bodies came in contact

“It does feel so long ago now.” Rana checked a bee buzzing around a clump of flowers. Some orange and blue dragonflies were also flitting around. And a few butterflies flying above the clumps of flowers. Shane looked at the bright blue sky. The sun was smiling down the ground. “Do you remember what I told you back then?” he asked turning to look at her. Rana lifted her head sideways to return his look. “Sure,” she said with a smile poking out of her mouth. She didn’t say them out loud.

The air hummed. The fireflies around her burst into white-hot sparks, and the next thing I knew, Barbie lifted both hands and screamed something in a language older than dirt. A wave of glowing light exploded outward—like a disco-ball nuke. Every ASA drone and camera fried instantly. Soldiers screamed as vines shot up from the earth, wrapping around their legs, thorns glowing blue. Barbie floated higher, looking way too smug for someone the size of my boot. “No one touches my Barbie Dream Forest.”

And that’s when Shawn smiled again. The moment he did, the air shifted. The marking flared brighter. My wolf’s teeth sank deeper into the raw edge of instinct. The ground beneath my feet trembled. Would I survive this?

“Would you like to fly to Santorini with me? For a real date this time? Just dinner, no foul play, I promise we will be back by twenty-two hundred hours.” The cheering was deafening. Aylin stood up and blew him a kiss, her face radiant. I tried to join in, tried to clap, but the throbbing behind my eyes suddenly intensified. It felt like a hot needle was being driven into my temples. The faces at the table began to blur. The sunlight didn’t just reflect off the water anymore; it shattered into swirling colors. Pinks, electric blues, and aggressive yellows danced above everyone’s heads like jagged halos.
