He dipped his head, and stepped to one side. My annoyance at Mason getting the getting the better of me; “My name is Sienna...” I bite out. “Not Luna.” I couldn’t find it in myself to apologies at this moment for my own clumsiness of not looking where I was going. But at this moment I was far too riled up.

"No. Your former mate committed atmospheric bribery." She turned to stare at him. "He did what?" Ronan jogged up, slightly out of breath. "It's a mirrored solar array on the east ridge. The paperwork calls it a 'motivational illumination initiative.' The engineering team says it's technically sound but morally questionable." Luna looked back at the artificial sunrise, at the mountains blazing with reflected light, at the sky painted in colors that shouldn't exist for another hour. Her lips twitched. "He installed a bonus sun," she said slowly.

The light hit me like a physical blow. It felt like my skin was being peeled back, like my very marrow was boiling.

Leon said, “The actual date.” Angela said, “I remember it’s November 22. I didn’t expect Sunny to be a Scorpio.” Leon smiled. “I don’t know much about zodiac signs, but technically, Sunny isn’t a Scorpio.” Angela’s eyes filled with question marks. Leon said, “November 22 isn’t Sunny’s birth date. It’s her second birthday—the day she came out of the incubator. That’s why Sunny celebrates on her second birthday every year.” Angela thought of how Sunny’s mother passed away on the day Sunny was born.

He explained that this sun wasn't an actual burning star like our realm. This sun was magically created by Selene and Helios, two of the Gods and Goddesses in this realm, to give light and heat. At night, if we looked up, we wouldn't see any stars. We would, of course, see the moon, which had cycles just as if we were in the human realm. It was created this way as a way of telling the passing of days. I had so many questions about this realm, but it would have to wait another day.

The news that the Hunger-Prime had gotten past the planetary defenses to nest within the Sun turned the morning of the "New Exodus" into a race against time. That had to be Luna Laurel. At Regal’s right sat his Beta—broad-shouldered, arms crossed, a visible scar running from his temple to his jaw. The rest were elders, each with eyes that flickered like dying embers. The room was heavy with authority, and every move we made was being measured. Ryan inclined his head respectfully. “Alpha Regal. Luna Laurel. Council elders. Thank you for receiving us.” Regal’s gaze moved over Ryan, then to Trevor, and finally to me.

The forest’s own power protects it from something that would destroy it. I sat up and looked at the wolf, his fur vibrant in the firelight. Was he the Sun, the one to bless the dragons? The Sun God to compliment The Moon Goddess? He was stunning and oh so terrifying to look at. Like looking directly into the sun. You know it’s going to hurt, maybe blink you, but it was just too beautiful to look away from. I never put much stock in the Sun God before, but seeing this beautiful wolf was proof enough for me. The Sun had answered my prayer...now I just had to fire out which ones? And why the Sun and not the moon?

She even hummed a song and she didn't even notice the footstep that enter the room from outside. HELIOS' FACE crumpled while picking the fresh vegetables outside his house located at the backyard. The plants here are the ones whose making him busy every morning and he's a big insane because he picked it now... just for that woman. Come to think of it, he doesn't need this vegetables to live. He could live for months without consuming any if it. He once tried to ate it but he ended up puking. He tried because he doesn't want to depend on animal's blood forever. He needed it.
