I breathed deep to calm myself and turned around to shift my gaze to the beautiful scenery outside of the window. I ambled towards the window and sniffed the earthy scent of the air. The leaves on the mountainside were showing off their radiance while the sky was starting to change its hue. It was now sunset, and the sun was bidding goodbye for today. Shadow Rock was in the place where everyone would like to bask in its scenery. Aside from the high mountains, there was also a wide lake nearby with cabins of the same colors and styles. I wonder if they were for the members of Shadow Rock.

It’s my parents' money. “Uh. I should have worn slippers and a beach outfit,” I complained as I felt the sand covering my shoes and trying to bring me down. I wonder if it would be higher if it wasn’t near the cliffside. My mind kinda went blank as my vision was ensnared by the California shore that passed. It was early in the evening so the sun had just begun to set. The water sparkled and was an almost dark purple shade, which contrasted from the soft pink and golden oranges that swirled in the horizon. I saw some dolphins or seals jump out of the water in the distance. I smiled as it was like they were waving to me and welcoming me into their home.

We slow to a trot when we come to the smooth rocks and we walk closer and climb up on the warm stones and lay down. The rock is big enough for all of us. I hear a growl and I smile, but we don’t react as we look out over the horizon towards the setting sun. The sky is painted with pinks, purples, and oranges. Simply breathtaking.

Well, she was right about the sunsets. I’ve never seen anything as spectacular as this in my life. The sun is slowly glowing down the sky, and it’s not just sinking, it’s shooting rays of pink and orange with such dramatic force, I’m put in mind of one of Noah’s superheroes. “Sunset” sounds quite passive, quite nothing-y.
