I’d almost forgotten he and Kaela were still in the room.
“You don’t need to worry, Lydia,” he said gently. “When the moon comes up, he’ll heal.”
I blinked at him. “What?”
“I have self-healing powers, Little Flame,” Leonidas added, watching my confused expression.
A breath I didn’t know I was holding rushed out of me. I relaxed back on my ankles as I was kneeling beside him on the bed, still clutching the blood-soaked rag. Leonidas, after a moment of quiet, reached out with his bloodied hand and laid it gently over mine. His skin was warm, too warm, and even though I kept my head low, refusing to meet his eyes, I could feel them on me.
