Whether her offer of help is genuine or manipulation remains unclear.” I sat up, rubbing sleep from my eyes. “How long was I out?” “Twelve hours,” Draven said. “You needed it. Don’t even think about apologizing.”

I chuckle, trying to figure out which book I'll have to pretend to read while thinking of how to get into the archive. I lean closer to the table, snatching Ivy's book from her. "Hey! I'm about to read what happened to Edmund!" I look at the cover of the book. THE REVOLUTION: DIVISION OF OUR PARANORMAL WORLD I glance into the page she's reading. Carla pushes Edmund to the wall, her mouth crashing on him with fervent passion. His hands roam- The book is snatched out of my hand. What in the world?! I couldn't read the entire thing, but the brief scan of that page alone was basically written p**n.

Now that I knew of the author, it was time to see the content. I pulled over off the road and stopped the car. The visibility of the storm had increased, making it impossible for me to continue driving safely. So, instead, I opened the journal and started reading. My eyes skimmed the words, keeping in mind that I was potentially reading from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. And soon enough, I found myself enraptured by the scenes they were depicting. Human on human wars, pacts between humans and supernatural beings, werewolves, Kindred…Human Hunters.

For a moment, he just stood there with furrowed brows, his orbs fixed on the cover. “Zombies are Real?” he read, tapping his fingers on the book. Taking a deep breath, he averted his gaze to the books seated next to them. Using his free hand, he grabbed one. “Supernatural Being.” With his lips curled, he scanned them from back-to-front cover. Immediately after, his mind drifted without prior warning. Something about the titles probed his guts. He just didn’t know what. Should he believe these zombies and supernatural beings were true? If not, how could he explain what he’d seen the night before?

Levy asked Carla who looked at the book in front of her, seeing this Levy followed her gaze and was surprised to see that a ghostly figure etched on the pages of the book. “ I hope that you have enough blood in your body after being used as a blood bank by the dark ones,” Carla stood up as she walked towards the cabinet which was sitting right next to the entrance of the kitchen and then pulled it open before taking out an old cauldron, some vials which looked older and ancient and some other things as she walked back to the table and placed it everything down.

" Summer grabbed the door. "This body is different. Amelia Fernandez was from the seafood market. Someone used an ice pick and drove it through her left ear straight into her brain." "How is this different? Isn't she just as dead as everyone else?" "There wasn't a single sign of struggle. Even under her fingernails was clean!" Summer stared at me. "The medical examiner ruled it a suicide." "Who can drive an ice pick into their own brain and not struggle?" "I want you to read her." I rubbed my fingers together. "Five thousand is too little. Up the fee."

Then it solidified, hollow-eyed and grinning: a raven’s skull, the bones black as obsidian, the eye sockets gleaming with unseen fire. Patricia leaned back slightly, smirk tugging at her lips. “Beautiful.” Gloria’s eyes glimmered with a hint of unease. “It’s alive.” Elara didn’t answer. She only stared, satisfied, her hand hovering above the raven skull, feeling its pulse through the shadows and the ink. In the quiet room, candle flames flickered against walls lined with dark magic, and the three of them waited, patient predators, for the chaos they would unleash.
