The lights in the room seemed to fade, and the children faded around her: Everything disappeared, and she was left alone in that cold, dark room. The metallic smell of blood laced through the room, and she turned around to be surrounded by the ghost of those children. They were covered in blood. Some of their arms and legs twisted abnormally and some sustained deep wounds. She wanted to run, but she couldn’t. Her feet were glued to where she stood. Then, the harsh basement lights flickered to life. The sudden brightness stabbed into his one eye, as the other one had a rod drawn deep and the man on the floor squeezed in fear. His entire face twisted in pain, as if even the light itself was another form of torture. The footsteps stopped. The man forced his one eyelids apart, just a little A thin sliver of vision. All he could see was the silhouette of the figure approaching… And then cold shadow that fell over his broken body like a final warning. “W-at-e-r…” The word scraped out of his throat like broken glass, just a dying sound struggling to exist.

Marrock looked around before starting the ignition of the car and in a twinkle of an eye, we were already on the tarred road. How? I asked, looking around. "Well, to fill in your curiosity, I used my powers as the Lycan King to get us out of the forest immediately before the rogues and spiritual beings started coming for us," Marrock said. "Why? The other day, you drove the car gently till we got outside," I asked. "Well, today is different. The rogues and spiritual beings of the forest are outside already by that time, so it's better to use my powers rather than for them to catch up with us," Marrock replied.

They pushed open the creaking doors, the sound echoing in the empty space. The interior was dark, illuminated only by the faint moonlight streaming through the stained glass windows. Dust motes danced in the air, and the smell of damp wood filled Sophie’s nose.

Her green eyes widened in recognition and something else. It was something deeper than surprise. Terror. Then the bond snapped completely. The power vanished like it had never been there. The darkness loomed around them like a cloak. Sekhmet carried an old-fashioned torch he pulled from a hole in the wall to light the way. It was a bit theatric and unnecessary, considering vampires and werewolves alike could see in the dark. But it set the mood for torture nicely; causing shadows to dance across the walls. A bleeding.

AURORA'S POV The shadows twisted around me, thick and suffocating, as I fell to my knees. My hands pressed into the cold black ground, trembling with exhaustion and rage. “Ancestors,” I breathed, my voice cracking. “Help me. Please!” A sudden pulse of power surged through the Shadow Realm. The earth beneath me split with a deafening crack. From the fissures, skeletal hands clawed their way upward, followed by pale figures cloaked in black mist. One by one, they emerged—a legion of vampires, their eyes glowing crimson like dying embers.
