AL-AMIN QURAISHI ABBADI It was almost four in the afternoon which meant it was about time for Asri prayers. He entered his praying room with his "Tashbih" in his hand. Like a man in a trance, the verses of Allah are recited. My goal was to back off to pretend to pass out on the long couch, otherwise it wouldn't be good on the floor. "Man allażi yasyfa'u 'indahü illā bi`iżnih, ya'lamu mā baina aidīhim wa mā khalfahum, wa lā yuḥītuna bisyai`im min 'ilmihī illā bimā syā .." Naswa continued reading the chair verse. Maryam never thought she would make it through but it reminded her of Allah's promise: لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear (2:286) Maryam didn't realize that her eyes had gone blurry and she was near to tears in the love of her God, The Most-Merciful, Most-Compassionate, and The Most-Forgiving. She had just jumped inside Abdullah's car to be taken to his 'Surprise' place when she was reminded of her blessings and the good turn her life took.

Anta mawlaa naa fansur na alal qawmil kaafirin. Translation: The messangser believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say; we make distinction between any of his Messengers, and they say "we hear and we obey (we seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return." Allah burdens not a person beyond what he can bear. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into terror. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which you did lay on those before us. Our Lord! P

With a heartfelt intention, he washes his face with water and completes the ablution ritual, trying to dispel the laziness and restlessness that linger in his heart. The man immerses himself in the beautiful verses he recites, whispering softly until they fill the depths of his heart. Gradually, the restlessness begins to fade, coinciding with the faint sound of the dawn call to prayer that seeps into his ears. Immediately, he rises from his position and raises both hands in takbir.

13 YEARS AGO. Just like every other nights, I sat with my family in the prayer room after the night prayer. It was Abu's turn to recite for the family. So we opened the Quran from where we last left as he began to recite with his magical voice. He started reciting from the Hizb of Suratul Ankabut until he reached a particular ayah that brought tears to all our eyes. Kulli nafsin Dhaaiqatul maut. He paused and looked at each one of us with sadness in his beautiful onyx eyes. I can never forget his words.

Without waiting for a long time, Anjani’s message immediately sent a blue double check. Nisya: okay, after maghrib I will wait Apparently Nisya thought that Arsya was the one who replied to her message. Geez, really stubborn she, Anjani was curious about what Nisya wanted to say to her husband until she chuckled like that. “Honey, take ablution there. I’ll wait in the room. We’ll read the Al- Qur’an first while waiting for the maghrib call to prayer.” Said Arsya who had returned with half wet hair.
