Water surged from her hands in a crashing wave, drenching the creature, snuffing flames just long enough to stagger it. Selene dropped to the ground, rolling aside with ragged breath. Her jacket burned away, revealing skin blistered and raw, glistening with wet heat.
Second - degree burn. Deep, but not life - threatening.
Aria’s chest tightened, panic rising.
“Selene, you’re hurt!”
“I’m fine,” Selene rasped, pushing herself upright despite the sting. Her eyes burned with fierce determination. “We finish this now.”
