“I want to eat the biggest, juiciest, and most expensive steak you can find. Jail food is a joke.” As an eerie silence fell in the area, except for the rustle of a light breeze, Tamashi thought about whether his demands were taken seriously. After a brief pause, Star began to laugh. Sweat formed on Tamashi’s forehead. “Of course! That works for me. Now, one last thing before we go. Let me properly introduce myself.” The wind picked up, blasting through Star’s hair. The bright sunlight shone in her hazel eyes. Her lips formed into a determined grin.

Only *my* touch makes them bleed. I kill the leader last, driving starlight into his chest. His blood is molten gold, searing my palm. "He'll rise again," he gurgles. "The Devourer's *always* hungry." The gateway trembles, the city beyond flickering. Eden grabs my wrist. "Don't. It's what she wants." But the Star's hunger is a crescendo. It doesn't want to destroy-it wants to *know*. I step through. ---

Swallowed. But the damage was done.

Star's face was pale, her swollen belly a cruel burden. "Sweet, isn’t it? Watching you chase what you’ll never have," Ravena hissed, her eyes gleaming with venomous delight. Helios surged forward, but too late. A portal tore open behind Ravena, swirling dark and violet. She yanked Star through it, and in the instant before it closed, Star’s mindlink flickered. I love you... Gone. Helios struck the empty air where they’d vanished, a roar of fury breaking from his throat. "DAMN IT!"

" Wait, I'll go with you, she said and followed me into the kitchen. I thought she was going to help but instead, she took a stool and sat down, eating everything edible in the kitchen. " Are you sure you're a fine star.? I asked her in a concerned tone. " Sure I'm fine, I'm just very hungry, " she said and stood up to eat a cucumber. " Aren't you going to wash that..." I barely finished my words as Star had already taken a bite from the cucumber unwashed. " Give me that," I wiped my hands on the apron and took the cucumber from her. " Give it back to me," Star said, struggling to take the cucumber away from my hand.

I was asked to describe the vampire I saw, but I never got a look at him, having hidden the moment I smelled the blood and felt the danger. I watched the door and saw Star running in. She looked like she was about to be in tears as she watched the policemen. I got up and quickly ran towards her, hoping to comfort her. “Star, what's wrong?” “My work, it’s all gone.” She said as tears started to pool in her eyes. She dared not look away from the boxes of broken glass, her broken experiment amongst the carnage of glass. I grabbed her and led her towards one of the chairs in the lobby. I sat her down and squatted in front of her, taking her hands in mine.

Did that sound sensible? The thing he ate could be the star thing Mom and Craig talked about. So he did see the star harvester. Damn it, he ate her star. Their ancestors. Alex got up and beckoned for more of the juice. I handed him the jug. He drank almost everything in the jug with one go and handed it back to me.

She scooped out a fever-reducing pill and said, "This medicine tastes a bit bitter, so just hold it in your mouth and immediately drink water to swallow it." Carsen stared with her eyes, "What should I do if I can't swallow?" Carolyn suddenly remembered the time when Carsen fed her medicine because she couldn't swallow it. He dissolved the pill and fed it to her mouth-to-mouth, and then she kissed him. The image instantly flashed into her mind, luckily Carsen didn't have the superpower to recognize the images in her mind, otherwise knowing what she was thinking, he would definitely think she was a big pervert! Carolyn cleared her throat and said, "How could I not swallow it?"

She was staring at the small TV fastened to the diner wall, where Andreas’s face loomed large and clear, his voice playing back: “I’m in love with Mia Martinez…” The air left her lungs. “No… no, no, no,” she muttered, staggering away from the broken plate as the manager called out her name but she didn't respond. She couldn't respond. She pushed past the swinging doors, into the restroom. Locked herself in one of them. Her breaths were sharp and rapid, the panic flooding her chest like poison. A familiar feeling tightened around her chest, making it hard for her to breathe.

I could smell the salt and something else in the air I couldn't quite put my finger on. Star began shaking again, her arm flying out infront of her. Something knocked Axel off of Star causing him to fly into the couch knocking him unconscious. We all watched In horror as Stars eyes opened up again glowing green. Stars arm had a green glowing mist around her arm then all of a sudden she blast a hole in the door, leaving a huge hole. "QUICK BRING HER HERE." Ivy shouted. I picked her up and brought her to the middle of the circle laying her down gently.
